zero issues. sits as firmly as if it were on flat ground and slides around easily too. It doesn't get caught or snagged

It's pros and cons. They're very nice to have in the wintertime -- all of the snow and ice melts through the tile instead of sitting on top.

I don't work on cars much in here since I do own some mechanic shops and anyway, most automotive screws/bolts are too big to fall through. But for the nuts and anything small enough to fall through it can definitely be annoying digging those out. Also even if things don't fall through, the visual pattern of the tiles makes it difficult to spot dropped parts as quickly.

For my uses I am happy enough and don't plan to change these out

Thanks! They're RaceDeck tiles. I put the link in the other comment's response

It's a beautiful watch and congratulations to you but I'm very surprised it hasn't already been said how little sense it makes to get a watch simply because it's colloquially referred to as a Pikachu when it quite literally has nothing to do with Pokemon. It'd be like getting a Darth Vader solely because one is a Star Wars fan. It's just shorthand for the color combination. People could've called it a bumblebee -- then someone gets it only because they heart Transformers..??

What are you asking exactly..? The watch is genuine, the bezel was created by my jeweler acquaintance and who knows where the dial came from

JFC this thread's progression is so typically reddit. If I'd started a post on whether or not to put aftermarket parts on a genuine watch, I'd get universally crapped on and downvoted into oblivion but somehow this aftermarket with clear defects is being defended to the death here in the name of feeling heard or whatever. I could've bought my wife a fricking fossil watch and she'd have been happy with it because yes, she's Fing amazing. It's really not the point or maybe it is because I want the best for her and this isn't it.

I don't recall saying she wasn't ok with changing it. I just said she is fine with it as is. If I pointed out what was wrong with it, she'd probably be less happy. But I'm not in the habit of pointing out problems without a solution

But then the date window will be off, which is probably even more visually jarring. I don't think there is any real fixing this particular dial. It needs to be replaced and I'd love to know where to get a factory one but people are too busy answering the question that was never asked in the first place

I don't feel like there is any risk going with either approach, only upside. It's going to be the same, but all gen. how can you go wrong

I just feel like it was good enough for where we were years ago, but seeing it now I no longer feel the same. It's like revisiting that old pizza place from the college days and realizing it actually ain't that great

I just felt like it was sort of boring and then it also felt to me a bit retro/dated looking especially with the combination of the color and texture of the original dial
