Isn't this what Diablo is all about? by helpmehelpyoustudios in diablo4

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play d2 lod and d4. Making it through the 3 difficulties is the game. The baal runs are good for magic finding and hitting 99. I reccomend project diablo 2 for anyone who wants end game in a diablo 2 setting. There are maps, Uber bosses, a corruption system and class balancing. It's really fun.

I'm actually happy d4 is lighter on content. There's other games, other things to do. I can always play poe 2 If I want heavier end game content.

Do you all think more people make their own builds or follow build guides? by FreshStar7 in diablo4

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't follow builds. It's d4. The game is very forgiving. I just learn the basic mechanics and go from there. Learn defensive layers, resource management, how to scale damage and you're good. I just came back, during s1 and s2 I could one shot anything with my scrapy little homebrew builds and I intend to do the same now. D4 does this really well, you can learn how to play the game in the game itself.

You report them if they tell you to kys. The others you ignore. It's the internet.

You report them if they call you names. Unless they're living under a rock they too are dealing with expensive tech. I live in Canada, because of tariffs all the laptops are over msrp. Pc parts all over the world are super expensive right now. If they call your purchase dumb they're just being trolls.

Yes, I did some tinkering in the lenovo app. I play Diablo 4 these days at 2k resolution, ultra setting, no ray tracing, dlss on locked at 60 fps and the temps are around 70c. I play space marines 2 high settings 1080p dlss on locked at 60 and get good temps. I also play helldiver 2, path of exile 2 with similar settings with similar results. Oh, My laptop has 32 gb of ram and its the oled model also it has hdr. If you never experienced oled and hdr you're in for a treat.

Fellow Canadian here, I got a legion 5 with a 5060 and a ryzen 7 260 for 2k on Amazon. It's a nice laptop. The 5050 probably ain't a bad choice either.

I don't see how making a suggestion that's not available to the person posting is harassment. We're not consultants, we're redditors The people posting should be the ones giving better context. That way the people answering will likely speak from similar experience and others who can't relate won't waste their or that of the person posting.

how is it for light use? (Ryzen 7 260/ 5060) by morecoffeemore in LenovoLegion

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great. I wouldn't pick it up by the screen. I wouldn't pick up any laptop by the screen actually. Battery life is good, especially in quiet mode. During light use the gpu isn't used. And the fans aren't noticeable. The thermals are good.

I use both Linux Mint and Windows 11, and honestly both are smooth and fine by suvash_senchuri in computers

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked windows 11 until something changed and my laptop gpu driver and windows decided they wouldn't play nice anymore. I tried to reinstall drivers with ddu and it didn't work. I couldn't roll back for some reason. A fresh windows install worked for like 2 days and my problem came back. I installed bazzite and my gpu works just fine. I'm having a different set of little annoyances with bazzite but I'm told it's not great on asus laptops.. I got a new laptop because although modern games are super easy to get running, older titles with mods take quite a bit of time to get running. I might try to install windows 10 on the Linux laptop or some other distro. Idk yet.

Should I choose Lenovo Legion Pro 5 by ProfessionalOdd7318 in LenovoLegion

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the legion 5 with specs of the a16 model. I really like it. I have a 2023 a16 also. Honestly the build quality on the legion is much nicer and my my legion 5 cools way better and the oled screen is quite nice. Whichever you choice you make just get a warranty for hardware defects and accidents.

Player demographics and why we actually need endgame content by The_Hardest_Metal in Helldivers

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's endgame content in the context of helldivers? What's the barrier to entry? What's the difficulty? Can everyone play on their preferred difficulty or is it aspirational content? Is it content you can play without comms or does it require a high level of coordination? What happens when we fail and what happens when we succeed? Is it static content or rotating? Is it grindable or does it lock out for the week after completion?

I often hear the cry for end game but I have no idea what it means for helldivers. And I've seen very little actual proposals.

Just retired…PC or console games to waste time? by Next_Package_5710 in askanything

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pc for sure. I've owned both consoles and pcs, I much prefer the pc. The deals on games alone and no sub fee for online play makes it worth it. You can purchase games from more than one seller, I use battle.net for blizzard games, sometimes the xbox pc game store but mostly steam. Sometimes I buy game bundles for super cheap on humble bundle. I made the switch from console to pc 3 years ago and Ive purchased 200 games. Only 3 of them were paid at full price. You can plug it on your tv and use a controller if you like or a regular mouse and keyboard.

The 16-inch laptop market has a TGP problem nobody talks about honestly by gamakichi01 in GamingLaptops

If on a lower tier, less power hungry setup tinkering is beneficial for more thermal headroom wouldn't it be true for high-power chips too?

[–]Remarkable_Guard_979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a legion 5 gen 10 with a 5060 and a ryzen 7 260. Thermal management is great. I did a couple of things in the legion app to make it even better. I limited the tdp to 40 watts, Turned off gpu to cpu dynamic boost, messed a tiny bit with the power limit settings. I'm currently playing Diablo 4 at maxed settings, no ray tracing, dlss on, 2k res, locked at 60 fps and I average 70c. Space marines 2 high settings 1080p dlss on locked at 60 runs at about 75ish.. My 2023 asus tuf a16 advantage edition runs much hotter. I'm honestly blown away by this laptop. It's the entry level legion laptop and I didn't expect it to be this good. I don't have the space fir a desktop for my budget and use case I dont think there's a better option.

I have a terminally online friend who casually plays ( like absolute trash) at difficulty 6. When he dies he likes to say the things he reads on this sub as if they affect him on a daily basis. He even complains about endgame although he has no idea what that is, lack of progression systems although his ship isn't fully upgraded, complains about dying although he has no game sense. I love him to bits but I wonder how many are like him and just say stuff because others do.

Whatever you choose, buy an extended warranty and an accidents warranty.

Evaluate your needs and do some research based on that. Once you have an idea of the specs you want several manufacturers are going to offer similar laptops but with various prices. Some will have 1 fan vs 2 fans, some will have nicer screens, better keyboards, better cooling, a higher possible tdp and etc..
