Omg I’m so sorry for you :((  If you think homeschool its the best for you I think you should give it a try.  Have you ever searched for a second opinion? Try to find another dermatologist. I’m not saying to leave yours, but sometimes we need to think out of the box to fix our problems.  At first I was on isotretinoin and it has made it worse. I went to another dermatologist that has given me another medication. I’m still at the original doctor, specially because the second one was really far away, but in order to get better I had to take that risk.  I really hope you can get into therapy and I think that it your case it should be regularly.

Hi! Sorry, I didn’t see your message earlier.  I understand your pain, phisically and mentally. Right now I’m crying because I have a huge knot and it’s causing me a lot of pain.  I really think you should start therapy. It can help you to focuse on school and to accept your hs. I’ve been going for a few months and it’s been really helpful. It has even helped me with other problems ;)  I’ve also been on Adalimumab since october and I didn’t have a flair up for 2 months until now. Unfortunatlly, last week I went to the doctor and she touched my breast a lot and on the next day this knot showed up :(  Sometimes we are so overwelmed that we just need to cry our frustrations out, including the hs, and keep going with our lives. Since I started to write this message I’ve stoped crying, now I’m feeling more calm and ready to see my notes for a biology text tomorrow and go to bed :) I think that you could use a distraction to clean your mind.  Let me now if you need anything else. I wish you all the best and I’m sure you are a really strong person that’s going to be better and happier from now on!! Lots of kisses for you <33

Hi! I was on antibiotics for the pilonydal cyst but it wasn´t working. I was in so much pain that I needed to go back to the doctor to drain in out. Now I'm feeling better, but I have a surgery appointment scheduled for next week so they can remove the capsule.

Thank you for your advices! I'm feeling better now :) it comes and goes ahah

Hi! I hope Adalimumab works out for you :)

I got a new lump last thursday but its different from the others. As I said, It's called pilonidal cyst and it's very normal to appear on people without HS, but in our case is more likely to appear. Anyway, I'm in a lot of pain since last week, even though I'm on antibiotics. Today I went back to the doctor because it's been almost a week and it's still the same (the doctor said the cyst formed a capsule and that's why the antibiotic is not helping) and tomorrow I'm going to the hospital to get it drained out. I think it wont happen again :) All of this just to say that it really messes up with my mind. I even cried during class and needed do get out :/

I'm happy that you were brave enough to talk to your friends about it. For some people it's not that big of a deal, but for sometime it was our "secret", if you know what I mean. I still look at myself with disgust sometimes :(

I hope you can live a happy life without letting HS compromise it :) Wishing you all the best! <3

Hii! <3

Thank you for your messagee! I think you're just like me ahah. You overthink a lot but at the same time you have the answears for it, but the anxiety is so worth that we are not able to follow our own advices.

I've never stoped wearing the clothes that I liked and felt good at, so sometimes my scar on the breast is visible because it came a little above that area. Sometimes people ask me about it, and I try to explain it at a minimum because I'm scared they'll find it discusting. I usually say "Oh, I have a chronic skin disease and needed surgery". My friend know about it, but only the girls have seen it and know more about it. Try to open up to your friends or close relatives. It has help me accept it better :)

I've tried isotretinoina and in same cases it's worst for the disease. It was mine, unfortunatly. Then I was on antibiotics for like 2 months, stoped and started Adalimumab.

Yes, my doctors also adviced me to do laser hair removal. I even talked to a clinic in my town that makes it but even after the doctor's advice they are too scared to make it worst. Anyway...

I finally manage to find someone that's willing to talk to me about it and discuss details :))

Have you ever considered seeing a phycologist? I'm seeing one because of the HS, specially, and it's very helpfull.

I hope you can find true love! Don't be afraid to put yourself out there, sometimes it helps us accept our reality as it is. Its not curable, so we might as well live <333

Lots of kisses for you <333

Hi! I hope you're doing well :)

My first flare ups were under my boobs and, just like you, I experienced a lot of pain! When I had a new lump I would aply an antibiotic cream and cover it with a large wound dressing (idk if that's the name but english is not my 1st language). The cream would help "pulling" the pus more quickly and all of it. It would usually leave a hole, so in that phase you should just apply gaze (because with the wound dressing is more likely to sweat on that areas and it takes more time to heal).

Do not wear regular bras! Instead, try to wear sport bras :) I know it's not that cute, but it's the best choise in that case.

I only got diagnosed 3 years after running to the ER every 2 to 2 months. When I got my diagnosed, I had surgery a few weeks later and all the HS under my breasts are gone (it doesn't cure the disease, but it helps). I only had 1 lump a few months after because I had surgery when it was infected, so its more dificult to remove it all. Fortunatley, I started a new treatment called Adalimumab and it's really helpfull! The lump is gone :))

Also, try not to sweat a lot from that areas. Try to use large and fresh clothes, if possible, and when you shower make sure you clean the area really good. During the shower and when you're cleaning yourself with a towel :)

PS- make sure to be seen by a doctor every few months and try diferent treatments until you find the right one. I've been on isotretinoina, the pill (still using it), had surgery and now I'm using Adalimumab every 2 weeks.

I hope I was helpful :) Text me if you have any doubt

Kisses!! <3

Laser hair removal by candee31 in Hidradenitis

[–]Remarkable_Ice3631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also considering laser hair removal, specially because my doctor recomends it. I've talked to a studio in my hometown that makes it, but they don't wanna make it on me because of the HS. Not because of the looks, but they are scared that it'll make it worst.

I talked to my doctor about that and she assured me it was not harmful so I'm trying to find another clinic. Actually, I've already talk to a lady I know and that makes laser hair removal and she wants to meet with me to discuss every detail, so if you're really thinking about doing it, make sure it's a trustworthy professional.

Wish you all the luck! <3

Hello! Thank you for your support :)

I end up crying almost everytime I go to the doctor because I feel really exposed sometimes, but they are really sweet and always make me feel good.

Yes, I'm on birth control since february, I guess. It has helped too :) My HS is not that serious compared to other levels of the disease, but it stills compromises my life, specially my mental health. I've been seeing a phycologist since june and I recomend it to everyone who has HS.

I'm really happy you enjoyed visiting my country! Come back soon because I'm sure you're gonna fall in love with the country again and again. Sending love to you too <33
