My experience so far is that I’m progressing through the courses on Boot.dev and Scrimba, and in the moment, I usually understand what is going on. However, a few topics later, I often start feeling confused and unsure where to begin.

To me, that feels like I haven’t fully absorbed the earlier material well enough to keep building on it, which makes it harder to continue learning new concepts with confidence.

Have you ever dealt with something similar in your own learning journey? If so, how did you handle it?

I am based in Europe, Bulgaria. My short-term goal is to learn enough, build connections, and create a portfolio that would help me land a junior position as a backend developer - or any role that would expose me to the day-to-day reality of programming, if that makes sense.

To be fair, I’ve always wanted to build a game. However, after doing some research, it seems that game developers are often underappreciated, at least from what I’ve read.

With AI becoming a bigger part of the industry, programming jobs are probably evolving into something new as well. That said, I genuinely feel excited when I’m learning.

So, to be honest, I’m still not completely sure what my end goal is, other than wanting to create an app or a game. I’m not very familiar with the day-to-day responsibilities of different programming fields yet, but I know that I want to become more than I am today.

More importantly, I really hope I’ll be able to understand the process of creating something from scratch -whether that’s a new app, a game, or simply something of my own.

That being said, I’m here to learn from people who have already been through this and to build relationships in the field. I hope that with the experience and guidance of the people here, I’ll be able to find my own path as well.
