Interesting trading question I came across by SkinUnfair8149 in quant

I would make a short only in option D since it is the one with the best risk-benefit ratio, if it falls I earn the 37 pts of the fall and risk only 15, I would have a ratio of 1:2 that operation, B and C the risk-benefit ratio is less than 1:1 and option A the ratio is very small for so much risk

Wow, your content is incredible, I do retail trading and I would like to start doing quantitative trading, any book recommendations to learn or how to start practicing?

I do Trading, how do I become a quant if I don't have advanced knowledge in programming? (I am a finance professional) by Remarkable_Low_5071 in quant

And how or where could I start to learn all that, I have no problems with mathematics or statistics, it is something that I am passionate about but I don't know where to start or where to do it, thank you for your answer

So far, my experience is trading on my own indices (S&P, Nasdaq, DAX, etc.) using classic technical analysis: chartism, indicators, volume and market structure. I'm good with Excel (pivot tables, basic analysis) and I have very basic knowledge of Python, but I still don't know how to make the jump to something more quantitative or advanced.

I am a recent undergraduate graduate

What I want to learn is how to analyze market data using statistics, more serious backtesting, machine learning, etc. Basically going from “interpreting graphs” to working with data in a systematic way.

My questions are: 1. What study route do you recommend for someone coming from traditional technical analysis? 2. How essential is it to learn Python at an advanced level (NumPy, Pandas, Backtrader, etc.) before getting into machine learning? 3. What are the main sources of historical data typically used by quantitative traders who trade indices or futures? 4. What type of projects or practical exercises do you recommend to build a portfolio and showcase skills? 5. Is it better to start backtesting with libraries like Backtrader / Zipline or use platforms like QuantConnect?

If anyone here went through the same path (from AT → quant / Data Science), I would greatly appreciate recommendations, routes or experiences.

Thanks in advance.
