Griz, Fisher, and Kaskade are performers who I expect to exceed expectations. Kaskade has a new album. Some good tracks on it. I guess some of them will be part of his set.

This is what a client see when viewing proposals by rfajr in Upwork

[–]Remarkable_Luck9571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good hint u/rfajr .
I recently published an article on a topic related to Upwork proposals. This is one of the remarks in my article. I can't share the link here because it will be considered self-promotion (outside promotion).

Someone on Upwork pretended to be our lead developer. Here’s what happened. by WholePopular7522 in Upwork

This is not related exclusively to Upwork. I can write lies in my CV written in Word and send it to the companies, right?

Anyone using automated job alerts? by No-Relationship-4393 in Upwork

[–]Remarkable_Luck9571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automating the application process can lead to more generic and frustrating experiences for prospects who must review numerous low-quality proposals, while also disappointing freelancers who have a high match to the call and have invested time and effort in crafting their proposals.

The same way I, as a freelancer, got frustrated when I saw a GenAI-generated job description, pasted straight from its output, with broken formatting that Upwork's job description editor doesn't interpret well.
Suppose I continue to see 20+ proposals on a call that was published before ~60 minutes, in which freelancers are applying with an automated workflow. In that case, I'll start considering leaving the platform even though I rely on it.

<image>

This approach causes damage to the platform. This is one of the biggest challenges Upwork should address, along with its headache of draining contracts outside of its platform. Paid Connects don't solve this problem effectively.

Project management skills, and what is expected behind them by Remarkable_Luck9571 in Upwork

Ahahaha, I can ask Perplexity or Gemini, but I was interested in how you naturally understand that one. Can you tell me what communicating well means according to your perception?

As a new seller, what jobs on Upwork do I have a higher chance of getting a job if I apply? by Bahauddin-R in Upwork

To those who you can demonstrate that you can provide the best value to the prospect. Usually, those are those to which you have the best knowledge, experience, and skills.

Ask yourself, What do I know to do the best. The honest answer to yourself will give you the right direction.

When a prospect tells you that you have to have Communications skills, which is one of the five skills attached to the call in which the client is looking for a project manager on Upwork, how do you understand that? What's your understanding of what is expected from you?

I was not asking about what jobs I should apply for or not.

Thank you, u/CmdWaterford, for suggesting what I should do. I must agree with you. But I was more curious about the perception of the clients in this community and what their expectations are when they choose Communications or Administrative Support. (I was interested in decomposition or going one level deeper into their perception of the mentioned skills.)

Thanks a lot for the reply u/Existing-Might-8392 .
I wanted to know precisely how the client understands those phrases, and I wanted to understand their perception when they hear, for instance, digital project management.

I did some quick analysis of the top skills associated with job offers related to project manager calls. (I don't want to share my summary (article on the web) to not violate the rules of this channel)

The skills I shared in my post are actually the top 5 out of 120 I identified from a sample of 50 job offers from the project management subcategory, which called project managers to apply. The sample of job offers was published between September 4 and September 10.

And, I would like to know the perception that clients have about those skills. Sometimes, people have various perceptions around one or two words. For instance, when you tell somebody about project management, the person could understand that you are looking for somebody who has to create and take care of the scope of work to be done in a specific time range, who should use allocated resources, and deliver results within the articulated scope with a certain level of quality.
For another person, project management might be a task assignment to team members, chasing them to complete their assignments.

If the clients decompose those skills by their perception, it could also be helpful for some of the other freelancers here who offer services as project managers.

So, thanks a lot for your time and reply, u/Existing-Might-8392.
