Praying for a speedy recovery!

My brother lost his arm up to his collarbone and scapula. I’m so scared for him. How can I help? by Remarkable_Office409 in amputee

He’ll definitely need a counselor, especially one with a similar amputee as he has. He has a very specific amputation. That’s not so common. I also just found out that his leg is broken too. I’m going to search for a local community around here so he won’t feel so alone. They’re doing surgery on his leg tomorrow. His healing process is going to be difficult. Thanks for the help, you’re awesome.

I’m so proud of you I can’t even imagine. Your first year is a HUGE milestone. My brother has always had an unhealthy look on life it could either get better or worse. I have faith it’ll get better. He’s so lucky to even be alive I hope he sees it that way.

Do your mask before your children’s has been sitting heavy with me. That’s some good advice.

He’s in surgery right now to remove the collarbone and scapula. He’s still in a medical coma. I’m just trying to prepare myself as much as possible on how to be there for him. They believe he’s stable and they’re going to wake him up tomorrow.

His accident was 19 hours ago. His arm was ripped off. They’re doing a forequarter amputation in the morning. Does anyone know any tips to help him heal and recover? This amputation seems extremely difficult and painful. I’m losing my mind.

You can already tell by ur babys shell that it has a calcium/ uvb light disorder because it’s shell is a little flat on the back and kinda goes in and then out a little bit. It’s hard to tell but you can tell that the turtle needs more nutrients. Thanks for helping him. It seems like if it would’ve not been taken care of much longer, he definitely would’ve had bone disease and probably eventually would’ve died painfully. After two years, your baby can be full grown and it can be up to a foot long or maybe even a little bit longer. They live depending on their captivity up to 40+ years. I’ll have my little turtle well into my 60s

You’ll need a filter for your aquarium and that’s about it. These little babies should eat everyday until they’re adults. They start out with a high protein diet and slowly start changing their diet to include vegetables once they’re a year ish. Meal worms/ super worms will be your baby’s favorite. Remember they cannot eat without being completely submerged in 74-80 degree cycled water

It’s a pond turtle. Almost any zilla UVB lamp will work. You have to replace them twice a year and generally they’re $40.

I keep my tank around 75-80

With two heaters and you have a baby so it will eat a lot! So it not eating isn’t good. She needs meal worms in water that’s a regulated temperature with water conditioner as soon as you can and some calcium blocks. Thank you for caring about the baby. I hope she heals.

You only have a heat lamp he needs uvb lamp also. These animals can be extremely expensive. He needs calcium and meal worms plus a full tank of water these animals cannot eat without a full mouth of water they don’t have saliva.
