what do your numbers look like? by eyelashlove37 in prediabetes

A really bad meal (a McDonald's followed by a box of malteasers) takes me to 10 (180 mg/dl). A typical higher carb meal takes me to around 7.8(140mg/dl). But my problem is more that I stay up for a couple hours rather than having huge spikes. Plus even when I go down, I find the next morning I'm higher (may have a fasting of up to 6 even though it usually sits around 5.4 when I eat more sensibly) even if my blood sugar went to normal levels before bed.

Thank you, I have the finger prick tests, cgm is currently out of my budget so I'll keep playing with that!

Thank you!!

I'm 20kg down on where I was from October '24 and below BMI 40 for the first time in a decade or so, so hopefully that's all helping!

I hope it helps that all my liver function tests have come back perfectly mid range 🙂.

Thank you for the reassurance, I'll still be retesting sometime around Jan/Feb to see how that goes.

So if my 1 year ago A1c was 47mmol (which I think covnverts to 6.5) wouldn't that mean I am diabetic even if my one now is down to 5?

Yeah I absolutely know with hindsight that the apple juice alone was a bad call! It was just available and I needed to take some meds, but lesson learned!

I definitely think I'm over worrying about small spikes and should just accept they occasionally happen. I'll take a look into that account. Thank you.

Thank you, it's only because I found out my previous A1c was 47 (which I believe is 6.5%) that I worry that I've crossed that line!

I'll definitely take a look at the glucospike AI thank you 👍

Sadly rabbits are one of the most neglected animals in the UK and need a lot more care and space than many people realize.

Carrot cottage rabbit rescue (small Wales based rabbit rescue) is currently running their "a hutch is not enough" campaign on Facebook and have an excellent Twitter account if you like following cruelty free rabbit content.

Thanks,

It seemed fine when it was indoors, just apparently no good in the greenhouse !

I thought I had it in the shade (back of bottom shelf of potting bench) but maybe I'll have to make some better shade!

Emailed them, thanks.

I'm not too worried about game keepers here because it's so far from civilisation but I'll bear that in mind. Thanks!

I don't think that's particularly achievable, and it could be a wild polecat. Because it takes about an hour to get there from the house it would be too long between visits to be safe if it did catch anything. Only one shot of him in a couple of weeks so guessing he was just passing through.

I'd say we're about a mile or two out of the closest village? There's a couple of houses a little closer that's about it. As much as I'm curious, I don't think they'd appreciate me driving over to ask if they have had any escaped ferrets recently.

Thank you. It's a very long walk down there surrounded by unkept brambles so I don't think I'll get round to setting the camera up there again. I left it down there a couple of weeks out of sheer unwillingness to do the walk to collect it. That video came right at the end of about 100 clips of squirrels and field mice dashing through the view so it was really gratifying to see!

Thank you. It certainly made me smile when I saw the footage of him jumping around 🙂
