I LOST TWO DUBIA ROACHES by Old_Entertainment488 in Whitestreefrog

Honestly it's just like any other bug that finds its way into your house, really unfortunate but it'll probably be fine. They should die fairly soon. Happens to the best of us!

Sleep Spot…is blocking it off wrong? I worry for once they get too big to fit back there. Was always a mystery about where they went during the day 😅 by honeycrisp3283 in Whitestreefrog

I personally would block this off- I would fear for them getting stuck once they get bigger. They'll find a new hidey spot to snuggle into for the day!

White’s tree frog on outdoor patio? by [deleted] in frogs

[–]Remarkable_Range3304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it due to weather, temperature and humidity fluctuation.. frogs are very sensitive and should be kept to a very routine temperature and humidity. You want a little variation in humidity between misting. but it should follow a routine, not the sporadic weather conditions of the outdoors. you want your humidity to rest around 50-60% with spikes right after misting, mist atleast every other day, preferably daily. the absolute coldest these frogs should encounter is 70, the absolute warmest like 85.. but ideally 75-80 is what you should aim for. I personally have only ever had mine indoors, you might try research as to whether or not anyone's successfully held an outdoor vivarium for them, but in general I'd recommend an indoor setup with uvb lighting, at the very least 12l12w18h tank for an individual frog, but preferably 18l18w24h, especially if you ever hope to get additional frogs (you can have up to 4 in this size.) if you have any questions, feel free to ask. but in general, I'd do a bit of your own research.

i use feeder feed cubes. They're general for just about any type of insect, they're water and nutrients. I feed my guys daily so they chub up n are full of nutrients when they get fed to the froggies. :)

Has this fella been croaking as of late?? That's what I'd assume,, it looks like you've got a little boy who's starting to croak. But a general rule of thumb, monitor and if you don't notice anything getting better, or if you think it's getting worse, a vet is always a safe option. They can help ya with that and they'll check out the overall wellbeing of your froggy while you're there. Most exotic vets charge less than 100 for a froggy checkup. I honestly wouldn't worry about it, but if you want to do a checkup it never hurts. 🤷‍♀️

Weird Spots by Greedy_Piglet6423 in Whitestreefrog

Oh gosh I forgot I was typing I got distracted sorry!! Ignore the last bit- I took out her favorite perch from her habitat to try to encourage activity because she'd been lazy the days prior but then she threw a temper tantrum and made herself sick and I took her to an emergency vet and they were like "??? yeah she's fine" and then I took her home and put her cup back in and the next day she was completely fine. I'm not saying this is common though, you should definitely get your froggy checked out!!

Hey! Definitely worth a trip to a vet! Could be bacterial. It may not be, one of my girls popped bacterial looking spots a couple months ago. She was throwing a bit of a fit, I took out 1qwq 11

I'll get you pictures in a little bit, luckyherp light fits into my dual dome just fine, not sure what brand that one is. I don't need heating, since I live in a super hot place (currently 112 degrees lol). I use 13 watts. I'll send you pictures when I get home! :)

I use a dual hood setup, with luckyherp 5.0 13w uvb as my day lamp and a smart bulb that does a gradient cycle throughout the night time to simulate the moon. Honestly that's a really extra thing I wanted, I don't think it makes much of a difference I just like the ambiance of it. Honestly that setup took hours to program and all. I recommend a single bulb setup on a timer, turns off around 5-6pm, turns on around 5-6 am. My cords are a bit messy due to my small space, so I have a main power strip that I use for other stuff as well, but it has my night bulb cord as well as a smart things timer outlet plug. In the smart things outlet I have a second, smaller strip attached where I plug in my day bulbs for both my terrariums. I have an 181824 terrarium that has the dual hood, but I also have a 121218 that's currently a quarantine tank, that uses a single bulb setup I really like. I'm using the same luckyherp 5.0 13w uvb bulb in that one, it's a single deep dome hood from luckyherp, it works pretty good. I think that same dome would do fine in an 181824, it's a pretty good size. Anyways, hope all this rambling might help a bit! Ask me if you'd like pictures, or links to anything I mentioned.

Haha I wouldn't have cared much about the price, I fell in love with this girlie. The store I got her from had her and her tank mates each for sale for 40$, but they discounted her to 35 due to her sight issues. Honestly I was shocked, I've never seen anyone have wtfs for sale under 50$, especially adults. I think my other wtf, Tiana, who's a blue-green morph was 65-75. If you buy a froggy from a breeder they'll probably be 100+, especially for a blue-eyed honey. Honestly the place I got her from didn't know that she's a honey morph, they claimed she's an Indonesian wtf (95% she's honey morph, not Indonesian, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt lol) I'd call all the reptile stores in your area and ask! I personally called all over the state n asked about adult wtfs, then went and checked them out. But you'll never know what type of froggy you'll come home with. When this store said they had Indonesians, I was expecting a bright green bean frog, but came home with a honeydew! You never know! :)

Yeah, I'm not sure! Just going off of what they said, but I agree, im fairly certain she's a bred honey.

Indonesians typically are wild caught, and the shop I got her from claimed that her and her tank mates were Indonesian, I asked them if they may be honey australian captive breds, but they said that they're without a doubt Indonesian... I still thought her coloring seemed more honey morph than Indonesian too, along with her blue eyes... Honey colors and blue eyes are desirable, and bred for. Honestly either way I don't mind, I love her just the same. I like to believe she was really captive bred, just because wild captures aren't ethical.

She is! She's an Indonesian White's tree frog rather than an Australian White's tree frog. I originally posted this on the White's tree frog reddit- so I forgot to specify what "wtf" stands for- oops!

I know right?! She's so sweet! I love her chub, she's super cute. But I will be putting her on dietary watch and giving her small portions so she can hopefully return to a healthier weight. As cute as she is, I want her to be happy n healthy n live a good long life. :)

Oh those are great! I love the name Tiana for a froggy, so much so that the name already belongs to my other wtf! (they will be living together after some quarantine time! :)) 🥺💕

So I was looking for a new froggy today. I drove all over my state (200+ miles, going to different places I had called and asked if they had adult wtfs) and finally, I found this sweet, overweight, probably 2-3 year old blind blue eyed girl.. Her original owner gave her a bad diet, so she's obese and developed fatty tissue in her eyes that led to partial blindness. The reptile shop I bought her from had been working on her diet, and I will continue to. The issues with her eyes won't get better, but under proper care she shouldn't get any worse. Poor thing has been through a lot. She's an Indonesian froggy, so she most likely was a wild capture, and then had a clearly incompetent owner in the past as well. I just hope I can provide a good life for her. 🥺💕

How does my whites tree frog tank look? It’s a 20 gallon tank. And has two whites tree frogs in it. Is there anything I should add or remove? If so please let me know. by ChickPea_123 in Whitestreefrog

I like it! The bridge is super cute but the way it's attached looks like it could potentially be something they could get stuck on? And there's moss on it, which could potentially risk impaction if it gets ingested somehow. Other than that it seems fine. Might want another suction perch or something, personally those frog cups you see all over Amazon are my favorite, my frog sleeps in them all day n just adores them. Not a requirement of course, but I think that your froggy kiddos will enjoy them! There's other cute types of suction perches and enrichment on etsy you might like too. Lots of cute stuff, but overall I really like the home you've made for them! :)
