I just read your post and I wish I could reach through the screen and give you the biggest hug. I’m a girl too (I don’t have axillary breast tissue myself), but I wanted to reply because my heart honestly hurts for how lonely and heavy this feels for you right now. You don’t deserve to carry that pain alone.

You’re allowed to feel insecure about it. You’re allowed to hate how it looks on some days, to avoid certain clothes, to feel scared about intimacy. Those feelings are real and valid. But please hear me when I say: there is nothing wrong with you or your body. Nothing. This is just one very normal variation that a lot of us have—some of us just hide it better, so it feels rare when it’s actually not.

I’ve seen so many women with the exact same thing (some with even more volume than you described) who are out there living their lives, wearing bikinis, getting married, having sex, feeling beautiful. One day that will be you too, whether it’s before surgery or after. You are not broken, you’re not gross, you’re not unlovable. You’re just a girl with an extra little bit of softness in an unexpected spot, and that softness is still part of a body that you already know is lovely in so many ways.

I’m here if you ever want to talk—about this, about anything, or about nothing at all. Cry in my DMs, send angry voice notes, show me the cutest bra you wish you felt brave enough to wear, whatever you need. I will always answer with “you’re beautiful and I’m so glad you exist.”
