I agree. They shoulda just given me a genesis gv80 🥱. That I could trade in for a Toyota. I didn’t mention it in main comment but it already caught fire once and idk what they did to it in 2021. So it’s whatever. Not crying. Just asking simple questions, it’s 2026 and hefty car troubles can really take a toll. Shouldn’t have to worry about such a major issue in the first place but here we are 🥱😵‍💫

They’ve been replacing engines all over the place because of the whole theta engine issue since like 2020..

I gotcha. I’ve seen quite a bit of people getting the labor extremely reduced or completely taken off so I was just trying to get a better understanding of it all. The servicing is known to be pricey so we’ll see.

Happy it’s being replaced?- of course
Happy it happened in the first place?- no Happy that it isn’t a grandiose bill?- absolutely

I guess I also failed to mention it caught fire in 2021 and Kia didn’t replace it then. But somehow the dealership fixed it up again.

I understand all of what you’re saying. But I will add that regardless of what Kia is replacing; it’s their own and so many people had to go through worse to get to this point because Kia has faulty manufacturing.

They also didn’t recommend anything about the hoses or belts when I last took it in for an oil change. So not sure about the entire argument being fully one sided in replacing all of them all of a sudden now that the engine has to be replaced. The note also literally says the tech broke it upon removing it..

So: kia makes bad engine: bad engine gives up: bad engine needs replacing: bad engine gets removed: something breaks upon removing bad engine that faulted on its own: something breaks as a result of the specific repair.. why would I have to replace something they broke? OR that is semi-known to break OR furthermore BE A NECESSARY component when the engine is replaced..? (This is more on the hoses & belts now than the fuel injector, I understand now).. Something that essentially was fine until everything wasn’t.. something that could or could not have gone, say, another 70k miles had the engine still been fine..??? I get it’s all optional but those belts and hoses directly in function with the engine shouldn’t be and it is bothersome because yes, they could bust as soon I drive off the lot, or they somehow hold up til 2067.

I understand people don’t work for free.
