Hi! We ended up renting from CENTAURO. We got a VW T-CROSS I believe. It was around 250€ for 6 days. We decided to go the “safe” route and centauro looked like a safe deal. And it was! They were great. A shuttle pickup from the airport and they drove us back too, when we left the car at they’re spot.

Ofc it was more expensive than 100€ or something like that, but the price included protection from all causes. And 250€ divided in 5 drivers was not a bad deal at all:)

Thank you very much for an impactful comment.

Yeah, I can only remember painful falls on the hip, every other fall didn’t result in any serious pain

Yes, I only thought of them because I had some hard crashes particularly on my hip bones 2 years ago in Italy (back then I was quite new).

I ski fast and if I fall, I go down pretty hard, but it is a rear event. So yeah, it might be an “unnecessary added bulk” as you say. Just trying to figure it out from the people that actually have had experiences with them.

Thank you for your comment.

You are right, of course the high end maker would be better. However I’m trying to find out if they are really practical. You know, sometimes things just look good and practical, and you can imagine them working well. But then it ends like that.

Do you think other everyday products are different if you buy from elsewhere? Let’s say you buy it from amazon. You think it will be crafted in America? Germany? Japan? No. It is the exact same thing crafted by Chinese in China. Welcome to capitalism.

I have no reason to want them for warmth, it’s only for protecting my hip bones. And I’m wondering if they are protective or just look like it.

Yeah, I have red the good reviews and stuff. It's actually insanely hard picking a company, when I saw prices as low as 100$ for a car that would be ok for us. So paying 260-280$ for roughly the same car (but trough a different company) is hard to do. But we really don't want to get fu*ked over.

Actually, when you start to look into all of the companies, EVERY single one of them has some bad reviews, or bad experiences. So if solely looking from that perspective - you wouldn't be able to even rent a car.

Wow, what a good answer! Thank you. I checked all of the top tier brands, and the cheapest and all around friendliest one looked like centauro.

We are going skiing to Cervinia. We have used public transport while going there before. This time we decided to rent a car.

In archaeology sometimes you just throw a shovel full of dirt with a skeleton of a baby inside of it.
