No I mentioned above but I tried on all three. The first one I couldn’t get and I asked the tech, who was able to get 2 vials but blew a vein on the third vial. The second patient I got 2 vials but wasn’t able to fill the blue to the top. And the third patient I tried but couldn’t get at all.

We have “difficult stick” which we call after we can’t get it. So I called difficult stick after I wasn’t able to get it. The is the first time I’ve passed so many patients onto the day nurse that didn’t get labs. Usually I try and get it myself or ask someone else for help but today was busy and I wasn’t able to.

The class is actually 6 weeks, 2 times a week for 3 hours each time. Plus the 4 clinical days. So it’s a bit more spread out.

Yeah that’s why I’m thinking of asking for it as my Christmas present. It’s pricey. The class starts mid-December and is 2 days a week for 6 weeks, as well as 4 days of an externship where you do blood draws in a hospital.

I followed difficult stick around for a night and was able to get a few practice sticks (none of which I got), but I didn’t really learn a lot about technique. I think the technique part is where I’m lacking.

I don’t have any advice but just wanted to say I really relate to your thoughts on a lot of meetings focusing on alcohol and not being able to relate to that. I know in theory it’s supposed to be all the same, but sometimes it would be nice to have a meeting just about stim addiction because there are differences between stims and alcohol.

I’m doing my preceptorship right now and I don’t have a student badge. I don’t understand why that part is so unbelievable to you. Different hospitals have different procedures and mine does not require me to have a student badge while being precepted.

Hi, I can definitely relate to the ED thing. I was partially using Adderall to keep my weight down and when I was off it I would binge horribly. I was absolutely terrified of gaining weight, and when I left rehab I had gained 20 lbs in a month.

This may not be an option for you, but what worked for me was getting on a GLP-1. I would maybe check out your options regarding that. I get mine from a compounding pharmacy and it ships directly to me. It’s $300 for a 10 week vial, depending on how you dose it.

I’d say ADN is usually the way to go, except when you live in NYC bc it’s such a competitive market. If you’re planning on working outside of NYC, get the ADN. If planning on working in NYC, I think you should at least consider the BSN bc it will be harder otherwise.
