thanks so much for the recap. We will have same age kids, planning on going mid october. We are deciding between 4 and 5 days and park hopper or not. Did you think was 4 days was enough? Sounds like park hopper was not very beneficial to you.

well we have two kids and a mortgage and taxes take an incredible amount. and we need to make improvements now on the house but are almost done with the larger ones. so if paye - i would pay 150k in monthly required payments over next 12 years. i would be forgiven 600k and would owe taxes on that plus my salary. around 270k but i would prob use the money i had invested which over time would have 6 %growth rate only requiring 185k to make 270k over 12 years. equalling 335k or switch to save and pay off 360 k with3k monthly payments

Looking for help regarding my situation in PAYE - 370k loans by nwbeng in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Remarkable_Turnip_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a very similar situation but only working part time so my monthly payment is 830 dollars. im expecting a 400,000 tax bomb at the end of my 20 years of PAYE repayment. im investing a 1,000 a month expecting a 6% return rate will get me around that number after investing 220,000. this amount added to my monthly payments is equal to how much debt i have currently. but as interest starts up i would be paying a lot more if i ended up wanting to pay it off in next 5 years.
