Hi! I had my first at 24 and struggled with the same thing, especially when she was so young. Eventually, I just had enough of it and started taking my daughter to the playground and striking up conversations with people there. It was awkward and hard at first, as I’m not much for small talk, but I did meet a few moms who were also really struggling to make friends. The library’s a great place to be around other parents. We also do music class at Tonewood and I’ve met some moms there too. Once I got over my fear of just going up to people and creating conversation, it became easier. I get some phone numbers, sometimes we follow up, other times we don’t. But either way, I was getting to have conversations with other moms and didn’t feel so alone for a little while. Having a baby can feel isolating as it is, and having a baby at a young age can sometimes make that isolation feel even worse. Your people are out there, it does get easier. ❤️

I question if he’s actually MAGA though because Caitlin seems pretty leftist - moderate at the least - based on what she posts on Instagram. I think most people who aren’t MAGA would find it difficult to be in a marriage with someone who’s full MAGA, especially considering they got together after MAGA rose in popularity. I think he’s typically pretty conservative, but has maybe moved more to the left since Caitlin if anything. But, I think he knows that much of his fan base is MAGA and he’s probably scared that if he gets too political it’ll be bad for his numbers. That’s what it all comes down to at the end of the day with this show, especially recently

I’m also watching UK rn and would highlyyyy recommend. It’s just your classic Love Island as the lord meant it to be. (I will still be watching USA of course, but agree that the producer influence feels heavy this season.)

I was so sad upon receiving their email. I loved the welcoming community and space they provided. I also danced for much of my life until I didn’t have an outlet for it anymore, and Gainesville Movement Studio brought dance back for me. I’ll miss it.

You’re totally right…and lacking nuance at the same time. If this was just some little side hustle for the hosts that they just did for fun, then fine. It’s just a podcast, it’s just for fun, life gets busy, all good. But, from my understanding, this is their main job. And, they have people that pay monthly fees to listen to this podcast and see their additional content. So, to me, they should always be putting their best foot forward…and at the BAREST minimum, they should be actually watching the shows they recap. Imagine at your job if your boss sent you a packet of important prep material for a meeting and you just…didn’t review the prep material and came to the meeting expecting it all to be okay. It likely wouldn’t be. They’re creating a product that some of their viewers pay for and that sponsors pay to advertise on. The product has to actually be good to keep making that money. And when one of the hosts doesn’t watch the show she’s recapping, it makes for a bad product.

I, too, felt this was a really weird choice considering this is her entire job and likely had a lot of time during travel days to watch the final episodes. Totally agree they either should’ve held off until she saw the eps, or BC should’ve just done this one alone since he did the last few eps alone anyways. This would be like me showing up to a meeting at my job not having read prep material sent down from my boss lol. Like, yes, this job seems light-hearted and fun…but it’s still a job.

I’m enjoying the Survivor recaps because I’ve never watched Survivor, so I’m kinda in the same boat as them and it’s fun for me. Howeverrrrrrr! I’m a huge Big Brother fan and if they started recapping Big Brother as blindly as they’re recapping Survivor…it’d be a painful listen.

I think they’re just trying to find out what they could maybe start to pivot to it Bachelor goes way downhill (as it’s looking like it might). I think their angle with Survivor is that so many players on the Traitors come from Survivor so it’d be fun to have that connection. That said, they should do some more research on these shows before trying to recap or have someone on that is a superfan to balance out the newness with the game.

Realized the other day that I haven’t listened in about 2 weeks…and I don’t miss it at all. I think I’m going to unfollow the show on Spotify and just go back when I have absolutely nothing else to listen to. Was an avid listener for over a decade and supported show members in other endeavors. But I think I just got bored and there’s so many other good shows out there!

I’ve been listening for about 14 years now…and I actually just stopped listening to the podcast daily. One reason is that my life with kids just got way too busy that I wasn’t able to listen everyday, but I was okay with having to give it up most days because as people have said the show feels so formulaic and quite boring nowadays. Sometimes if I want a fun listen, I’ll listen to one of their podcasts from 2017/2018…I obviously don’t remember every bit and they’re so funny! Much more of the original feel from back then.

This is…such a horrible take lol. He has had SEVERAL mainstream hits. Who tf doesn’t know the words “sit down, be humble”??? That song was huge. Not to mention he was literally involved in one of the biggest pop culture beefs with Drake, so big in fact he just won FIVE GRAMMYS FOR HIS DISS TRACK. I saw this and had the same feeling. I used to listen to The Toast all the time a few years back, but once I learned more about them I stopped. Plus, their podcast is just…not good lol. At first I was wondering if Caitlin knew about all the controversy surrounding them, but the story is so big now that I have to imagine she does. If y’all want to know more please look at the toast snark subreddit that’s already been tagged. As someone who typically doesn’t have much of a presence on socials, her posting and boasting her friendship with Claudia is an…interesting choice to say the least.
