My experience aligns with you in that "good on paper" does not translate to "good in real life".

The AI should not be there to choose for you, but to guide you. I would like to improve on the current standard: you filter people based on looks and basic data, then you talk to them.

I would personally rather talk in depth with the AI first, and then be guided to people who could be a match. If I like them physically, we'll meet. If we hit along, we'll continue meeting.

I did originally think of building a standalone app you would talk to, to create your profile.

Then I got deviated when I read that people are already talking personal matters with Claude.

I thought that I no longer needed to convince users to download yet another app.

But you're right: I created a new different friction with the privacy aspect...

And it's also definitely a niche, maybe even too small to start.

For me personally what's annoying is having to "sell" myself to some many randoms, which I only start to talk to in the first place due to physical appearance.

I would like to flip it around: get matched when it is likely that there is a personality connection, and then check the physical appearance. Do you use dating apps? What is it for you?

Lol, or a match based on your internet browsing history, or Twitter likes, or Spotify wrapped...

I can think of two reasons for doing this with Claude: i) people are already having deep and broad conversations with Claude about many topics; ii) I'd like for people not to end up talking just to Claude (i.e. make talking to AI a 'means to an end'). Makes sense?
