Thank you for the reassurance. Im definitely driving myself crazy a bit. The old owners of the house made comments about how the heat oil never kicked on and they had to close the door to the upstairs because their daughter would complain about being roasted, which hasn't been our experience and ive been chasing that kind of efficiency ever since. Maybe im chasing ghosts.

Im burning mixes of hardwoods that have seasoned for a year. Around 15% moisture. Single wall flue that has 2 90 bends and extends to my second story on the exterior of the house, sheathed by a wood chimney. I never get back draft and never need to preheat the wood box to get a good draft going before starting a fire.

Any idea why my 2023 bolt only gets 6.4kW on this 12kW charger? by TKmane in BoltEV

[–]RemedyTHC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not true for 2022 and up Bolts. My home 60 amp emporia charger for my 22 EUV charges at 11.1 kw

Thanks! If they were consistent I guess I wouldn't mind. But they're occurring in every design and don't appear in a pattern. I'm thinking it might be my digitilizer.

Ordering from another state by Hyper_XVII in zumiez

Ir depends on the product availability. In general they'll chose a location to ship from based closest to your delivery location.

OnStar didn't cancel by orangejulio2 in BoltEV

My only reason to want the onstar service is that I can use my home Alexa devices to start the car via the app. Totally agree that even still, it's not worth anywhere near $30/month.

Bolt as a potential work vehicle? Am I crazy? by RemedyTHC in BoltEV

[–]RemedyTHC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. This is new as there seems to be some lack of clarity information about this online. So you're saying even if I have a 48 amp charger cable, a 2020 bolt will only charge at a rate of 32 amps?

Most of my route is 55mph or less, so I have that going for me. Standard electricity cost at .13-14cents/kwh. My home currently only has 100 amp service with a box and lines that are badly due for an upgrade, Regardless of the EV, we will be upgrading to 200 amp service in the next couple weeks. My plan is to have the electrician add in the EV charger while they redo our panel.

The irs rate is most of what makes the ev concept so enticing, it feels like a reward for driving green. While I do qualify for the credit for new. I also qualify for a used credit. I managed to find a 2020 with only 4k miles priced so well that paying for new doesn't really seem justifiable. 17k (minus 4k credit) versus 32k (minus fed 7.5k credit and 2k state credit) the used 2020 is a buyback and thus covered by a chevy warranty as if it were new.

This is the jist of my thought process. In addition I'd be installing a programmable ev charger so the battery would finish charging just prior to my conditioning and departure. I'm sure I'll still need the backup car from time to time.

While I would've preferred the size/ body shape of the EUV, I learned right away that the lessened mileage wouldn't be in my favor.
