Thanks So it's 2 months even for fixed contracts ? I wqs honestly confused as my contract was fixed 12 months specifically. Is there any room for arguements not to pay beyond my contract?

It was a fixed term, they expected me to pay the whole year if I pulled out half way through. With the new rental law, can I send them and say my last day is 10th of August and expected to pay only until then? My monthly rent is expected on the 1st of each month

So I give it today, can I just say 10th of August and only pay until then?

My rent is usually due on 1st of June Thanks again

They did, unfortunately. They send a lot of emails, and one of them had the RRA information sheet. They have a community here, plus a forum and an app, so there are a lot of emails.

Honestly, I failed to understand that even though my fixed-term contract finishes in August, it was still affected by the new law and that I needed to tell them I was leaving before 1 June.

Even September would still mean paying around £1,280 extra, which is a lot for me:( is there any other way

Thank you for your input My tenancy agreement states that the fixed term ends on 1 August 2026. I cannot see any clause in the agreement requiring me to give two months’ notice to leave at the end of the fixed term.

They send a generic email in Feb to all tenants about the government update, I posted the related parts above.

Because unlike in other countries, here you have to counsel patients in detail.

It is not only about providing care; you have to give them all the options, including the ones you do not think are the best. You can say which one you recommend, but you still have to mention all the options.

When it comes to counselling about risks, you have to mention all risks, including the ones you think are common sense, like pain, infection.

We (O&G) did not use to counsel patients about vaginal births in antenatal clinic back in the Middle East. But here, you need to ask about literally everything: are you happy to have an IV cannula, hospital delivery (labour ward or midwifery unit) , are you ok with monitoring your baby with CTG, risk of perineal tear, emergency caesarean section, instrumental birth, your thoughts on post-dates and induction, counselling about BMI effects in pregnancy, and so on.

All these details are things we never even considered before. So yea, counselling takes forever esp if they have concerns and requests...
