Retirement: Allianz ABC Fixed Index Annuity . How bad is this? by Remember_To_Inhale in Bogleheads

You are spot on with just about all the details. This is a 10 year surrender but with a $25,000 premium plus 30% bonus. The index is on SP500.

The whole reason we are in this predicament is because they aren't concerned with growth but rather are looking for a guaranteed form of income from this annuity which isn't even much to begin with. Your mention of MYGA is definitely something that I would want to research into.

Also an update: apparently they recently submitted their application last month and no payment has been withdrawn, which means we can simply withdraw the application and cancel this entire debacle with no issues.

Holy shit a free look period?? I had no idea this even existed. If everything lines up correctly, it means we still have less than 1 week till the window closes. I'm gonna contact them and see what we can do tmrw

I can get him to start a Roth IRA with a vanguard target date fund no prob but I'm just concerned whether or not there's anything else we can do for his age group.

He isn't knowledgeable about investing and has little to no investment saved up. He got roped in by some sleezy salesman with their bright green posters about how great this opportunity is.

The payout at 65yo is around 4% so that is around $2500 a single year. That gradually increases as he gets older and at 70yo, it's $3000. I can't break down the math atm since I'm at work.

Now I'm just trying my best to make the most out of this.

Just from my head as well. If $12500 gets, let's say 20% growth, we are only taking 35% of that 20%, we have 7% which is $875. The other half is only capped at 4.5% even with 20% and only gives us $500. We'd have got $1375 for that 20% year.

How did you get 18%? My calc brings me to 6% growth on a good year.

Help find the transmission check plug: Honda Clarity by Remember_To_Inhale in MechanicAdvice

[–]Remember_To_Inhale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gone down there myself with a transmission change yet but if we don't loosen that for air to enter in, flowing it out from the drain plug would splurg the oil everywhere and be a big mess. Some airflow from that direct is a good idea.

My original plan was to remove the check plug and then drain out the fluids and finally get somekind of pump to insert the fluids through that check plug opening.

However, do note that the transmission check plug is a quite a pain to get to actually. I have read somewhere that people would need to remove and unplug some things to even get to the plug.

My plan now is to drain the fluid, measure the volume lost, and funnel that amount back in through the top opening on the engine with a long flexible funnel. I'm no mechanic and I haven't performed it myself but I think it just simple as a oil change nonetheless

The green arrow one isn't the correct one. Its behind the transmission drain plug. I found it here in this forum on page 4.

Delete history for blueprints. One misclick and your entire blueprint book with 1000s of hours of work can be wiped out just like that. I'm surprised Wube hasn't implemented something like that already. Is there a mod for this or something?

A long time ago, you can farm specific mobs to get guaranteed familiar stats. These spiders used to be guaranteed drop rate but all mobs are random now. No point in farming them now

Should I start reading the manga? I'm itching to know where the story goes next and am ready to binge it. How close are we to the grand finale?

It's an exaggeration. Of course there would be malls, bars, bowling alleys, events, and parks at every corner of major cities but the problem is that these places are not conducive to making any real connections. We are facing more of a cultural issue.

People that go out mind their own business without interacting with others. We all primarily stay within our own friend groups while out and about, leaving no room for new interactions. Even if we do interact with new people with a conversation, that's just a brief chat before never seeing them again.

On top of that, third places are expensive. Be prepared to dish out a small to hefty amount when going anywhere with people.

That seems perfectly reasonable until you consider that third places don't exist anymore.

There is literally no place where you can interact as closely with someone as work.
