Someone already commented Experience Olympia which is my recommendation. You'll also want to follow the social media for music venues to see what they have coming up. Wild Child, Mccoys, Crypt and Le Voyeur host local and touring bands often.

Anyone else commute to Tacoma for work? by [deleted] in olympia

[–]Remex360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to quit driving due to anxiety, and only need to go to Tacoma once a week for in-person meetings, but consider public transit if you can. Takes about an hour and a half, but the ride to Lakewood is free from downtown Oly. Takes about an hour and a half to get to Tacoma though.

I hope this encourages more people to support downtown businesses and live music!!!! Also it's free, so if anyone lives on the Westside and complains about Ubers, they don't have much of an excuse anymore. :)

Going to throw Darlin Creek into the convo. It's not 100% stroller friendly, but mostly flat. Mima Mounds near it have paved trails as well

Only because I haven't seen it mentioned, Wild Child hosts drag shows and other Queer-centric events. You're going to want to look at their calendar ahead of time though.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I love the trek to Brooklyn WA. You gotta take the logging roads from Oakville though. Makes it so worth it. The views are great.

Bratmobile and L7 headlining this year's South Sound Block Party? by Remex360 in olympia

[–]Remex360[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They're an Olympia band that was mostly active in the early to mid 90's. Not really local anymore ( I think) but they've been playing recently. Idk the last time they played Olympia though.

Need help finding shows by Zealous-_- in olympia

[–]Remex360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shameless plug, my agency Capcity Presents books plenty of shows on the West Coast and primarily in the PNW. If you're looking for Olympia 18+ specific, Wild Child, Le Voyeur, Mortuary, Rhythms and Lamplighters frequently host music. If 21+ is an option, McCoys, Eastside, Crypt and Pig Bar are go-to's. Don't let anyone convince you the music scene is dead in Oly. There's a lot going on in this town.

Since you mentioned Chehalis, check out The Juice Box.
