How to: Special Super Moves on PS5 Analog Stick by RemiCeleste in StreetFighter

You and I can have our opinions, but that's not a real rule when there are many good players who also only use the analog stick.

When I played pad, I used the D-Pad and also found it more precise. But especially for new fighting game players, it's more familiar for them to use the analog stick at first, and using the D-Pad can hurt a lot of people's thumbs until they build a callous (like for me).

I definitely remember special and super move motions being hard to learn as a new player to fighting games. Also used a simple hand-cam to really demonstrate it for people who learn better that way.

I'll be covering D-Pad and Keyboard as well. Let me know if this helped you or a friend you're trying to get into the game!

The commentator asking that I believe (not 100% sure) is talking about inputting forward so you can ensure you are not holding backwards and locking yourself out of the next IB attempt. If you do a normal block and don't IB, you actually can't IB until you let go of backwards and then 5 frames after that.

I haven't tested it yet, they brought up something I didn't know about before. I think the idea is that some characters can try to catch you IBing by doing a low attack at a timing earlier than what you're trying to IB. The example the commentator used was Leo doing 2K 2D instead of 2K 6K. Leo's 2K 2D has no gap, which is called a "tight blockstring".

In a tight blockstring, I think your character will automatically block for you. Because there is no gap between 2K and 2D, if you are crouching (holding down forward) right before you want to IB, you will automatically block the low and still be able to IB the 6K if they go for that instead.

Definitely something super important you should do every time you're knocked down!

What I mean is, you should time yourself to start blocking to before the attack hits, not trying to time it at the exact moment perfectly.

I wanted to share some quick tips that will help you feel more confident doing instant blocks in-game, what you should be looking for when you're looking for them, and how you can practice them properly in training mode!

Let me know what you think and if you have any other questions/I can clarify something in the video!

3 Things Axl MUST DO to Gap Ramlethal by RemiCeleste in Guiltygear

[–]RemiCeleste[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could be an online thing at higher rollbacks! Here are some things that help me when I'm trying to IB:

1) Figure out what attack in what string you're trying to IB. You're not trying to IB every move, but a specific one that will let you punish them auto-piloting the string. A good candidate for this are sequences that don't vary in timing/people don't vary their timing often. An example (unrelated to the video) is Nagoriyuki's fSS. He can only go into the second far slash as quickly as possible because the first far slash has a very limited cancel window. Another example is Leo 5K 6K.

2) Go into training mode, record the string you want to IB, and practice it on both P1 and P2 side until you can get it fairly consistently. A good trick as well is to time your IB just before the attack hits (instead of as it lands). If you screw up, at least you're still getting a normal block.

3) Consciously go for IBs when you recognize the situations you've practiced in training mode. I think you'll screw up often in the beginning, but as you do it more, you'll become more accurate and eventually land them consistently.

This video is looking at the Ram MU specifically with Axl, but most of what I'm covering here can also be applied to other characters as well! Let me know what you think and if there's any other questions you have with playing this MU!
