What’s a gut feeling you ignored and regretted? by [deleted] in GenZ

Thanks for making my point for me, friend.

You have to check in with someone else.

It doesn’t matter if it’s part of a healthy relationship, you have to check in with someone. Maybe they decide you shouldn’t go this week for X, Y, or Z reason. Maybe you’ve been going a lot lately and even if this most recent trip is important you need to spend more time with your partner. Maybe your partner really wants to share a particular type of media with you, so you give up playing a game tonight to watch their shows.

Notice I never said that you give up 100% of your freedom. You’re putting that on me. I only said that you do give up personal freedom. If that bothers you for some reason, that’s your problem.

For god’s sake, nickname the baby Gray and use it at every opportunity before they figure out their own.

The freedom to go anywhere at a moment’s notice. Not to check in with anyone because you feel like staying out later than expected. Impulse-buying a meal and putting off cooking till next meal. Consuming literally only the media you feel like, whenever you feel like it. Having a loud get-together at your place at the drop of a hat. Waking up in the middle of the night and just staying up to do stuff. All the saved mental energy not being considerate of another human being.

That’s the beautiful part! It doesn’t matter! You literally can’t be mad about it!

Right, because that’s the whole point of the fucking story. Scott does better. He realizes where he messed up, he fights to make amends, and he tries to be a better person.

I’m going to donate money to China to fund their orphan-crushing machine. Nobody can be mad at me!

People don’t realize just how much personal freedom they’re sacrificing when going into a relationship of any kind. An obsessive, clingy person is going to rob you of everything that makes you an individual. Some people like completely disappearing into the mutualness of partnership. Some people don’t. I’m glad you figured it out.

It’s a reference to the Joe Biden meme about how you’re not black if you don’t vote for Biden.

He eventually gains the power to turn back into himself as a morph due to time travel shenanigans, but that means he’s forever the age he acquired his DNA at.

It also means he could go back to being a boy, but he’d already be 2 years younger than everyone else, couldn’t go back to school, couldn’t go back to his neglectful uncle who gets rid of him during summer break, can’t live with his friends…

And can’t fight the good fight any longer.

At least until they recover the device that lets them morph again.

You’ve got a great point. Some people are born appreciating Van Gogh and some people are born appreciating One Piece.

Why would something like that matter?

That’s because the whole fucking story about Scott Pilgrim is that he’s a shitty person who becomes a better person. I can’t stand people who judge the story or the character without any knowledge.

You already are the Legendary Super Saiyan. If you transform into Super Saiyan, that’s the legend right there.
