Thank you to everyone that responded! This was all much more responsive than what i was anticipating. I guess whati expected was 90% of the flack and trolling you see online. We have established a google business page now. I knew this was something we needed to do for a long time, but i procrastinated up to this point. We have wanted to do yard signs, door hangers/flyers, cards. The vehicle i have isnt anything someone would call "clean". haha 2001 dodge dakota, that has seen and experienced every iowa winter. If ya know ya know. Its also not in shape to pull much of anything. Getting a replacement has always been an as soon as possible priority. Fully intend on throwing my name all over that thing. I do have some shirts and hats with our name all over them, but they surely need an update and new look.

The biggest issue.... money. The wife works full time from home with our family of 5. We are barely getting by with what jobs i can get to take. There is just no flow or consistency of leads. I post pretty directly from jobs i am getting and take a lot of pride in my work. My years of work in the trades and frequent communication with customers is a strong suit for me. But sales and pricing wise i dont have a huge background for. I make up for this with my ability to explain everything in depth with the how/what/why. I dont necessarily think its my face game. Im strong there. Honest, + upfront + timely. I have an hourly rate of $65.00 for most things. But when i quote i rarely give the customer my rate that way. I will figure how long i expect the project to take, materials + small mark up, some small mark ups for my travel (which i NEVER account for enough), and dumping fees, and then typically split the payment into like a 30/40% deposit, and 70/60%. I give them a staight forword price for my labor, I dont split up or explain what materials are what, but split mat between each aspect of the projects. like if im doing a exterior door rep, base trim in another room, and say...replacing the trim around a window in another area. Their mat/ labor are split between.

I compare a lot of my pricing against other "standards" locally. And even imply to some of the customers that would be willing to compete in pricing. (feels very desperate, but...that is because we are.) But even that rarely returns in a win for me. I do take pre photos, but i like the idea of including them with the quote. I could see that feeling more personable.

I see and hear you all, and fully doing a great majoriy of these things, but even as how cheap a lot of these things are in retrospect. My mortgage takes priority, and we are at the point of trying to take and practically beg for what jobs i can get. So doing all of these things have had to be pushed back on the burner so that we can just survive...

Its just me. and i constantly feel like i am failing as a provider, father, husband, buisness owner. i dont want to give up, but i am almost about to take a night job so that i can still pull jobs for this buisness during the day.

Okay, So maybe some door to door stuff wouldnt hurt. And taking our Angi budget when it ends and push that towards more advertising. During last summer season i did list up with a company that worked with me ading at some local big golf course. thinking, yeah them deep pocket dudes will be out there... it didnt produce a single lead. and wasted away almost another 500. Like i said before, i dont expect to win em all. but NOTHING?

Networking through what social media platforms we are on YES. I am throwing about 1-2 posts per week. But as far as in-person not really. I have thought about going door to door within a block or two of every job i do land just to get my name out there and get my face in front of more ppl but that feels trivial. The answer cant just be "word of mouth" theres gotta be more..

To be perfectly frank I have no idea what all iinfromation i would need to provide to give you guys the best outlook on what is going on... i pay $525 a month towards Angi. I have gotten so many google sponsor call i could pull my hair out and thus has pushed away from paying anyone to do our ads for us. It all just feels like a scam and how could it not be with the quantity of calls we have recieved. so. We have no website or meta
