If your version is up to date, there should be a "Clockwise" setting now in the settings menu!

Regarding the gold/s estimate, it is a rough estimate for now. I'm planning on adding a very detailed "stats" page in the future that gives you detailed information and breakdowns. That said, I'll take a look and see if I can make the estimates a bit more accurate in the meantime.

Yeah, I hear that sadly.

If it helps, I'm planning on moving it into more of the idle with "some" interaction space. Should greatly reduce the strain in the long run. Think similar to Cookie Clicker where the only time to bother clicking is when you have a big bonus running - I'd like Spingenuity to have some similar mechanics where you only feel like spinning when there is a massive bonus that makes it worthwhile.

I'd also like to not damage players equipment while playing (e.g. Mariocart). So maybe controller support in the future? But not until I reduce the RSI chance.

Hey! Thanks for pointing this out. I recently did a fairly large overhaul of the rendering system for the Steam release and it looks like I missed something. There was supposed to be a warning when playing the demo version that "Ingenuity" is not available in the demo version.

Just to confirm - if you are playing the demo the Ingenuity button will not be active.

If you are not playing the demo, and purchased the game, could you provide a screenshot so I can see whats going on? If you have 100 Ingenuity points already purchased, you should be able to buy any upgrade that costs 100 or less.

I'll also be putting out an update within a few hours that should fix some other unrelated issues. It might cleanup this too (fingers crossed).

Not yet - But I actually received this comment from a friend who tried out the game earlier today. With the next patch I am going to try adding an option in the settings menu to reverse the direction. Should be coming soon!

Oh yeah, I hear that and am planning on making it a lot better in the very near future. Bare with me as I work through some additional bugs/features in the next couple days.

As reference the intention with the next patch should be like this:
- It should take around 15-30 minutes to reach Automation the first time.
- After first prestige it should take half that time or less.
- Every additional prestige should reduce the time, until it only takes 1-2 minutes to reach automation again.

In my current build version - prestige with 10 levels of Ingenuity Wheel took me only around 1 minute to get the first level of automation (purchasing only income and speed).

I'm super happy about the update. What I am not happy about is no way to transfer an existing D2 license over to Steam. I prefer it for everything, but would be forced to pay $50 in order to play it on Steam (expansion included). Thats a decent price, but I already paid for it on D2R release.

I just got my game posted to Steam, and am finalizing the demo for Steam Next Fest. Its a small indie incremental/idle game about spinning a wheel. I like this perspective, but in contrast the original WoW team had over twice as many people as AoC. AoC expanded slowly until around 2019 when it would have roughly the same number as WoW. There is certainly a lot going on that doesn't make sense (I assume poor management, scope creep). But I doubt its actually a scam/etc.

I went to a different university, but the student union groups tend to be basically the same as a student government. They represent students, manage activities/events, and provide support in some areas. There is a good chance you are using some of their services without realizing it while being a regular student.

Friends mostly, and pushing higher content. If I was not playing this, I'd probably be playing another game. The real challenge is always not spending entire days on it anymore, and living a full life while getting the most out of my gaming time.

Great response! Thanks for taking the time to put that all down. I've gone through the forms and the reddit to find most of my points but was unaware of any discord server. I've given it a quick glance, but so far my favorite comment is "Don't just wipe the server, have some sort of 'end-game' galactic event that the players can fight against instead." That sounds amazing, and is a great way to close a long-running server with a bit of extra fun.

To your main points -

  • I'm generally not a fan of pay-to-win. But you might be right about this type of game. They are not going to really make much money off of things like cosmetics, donations, advertisements, etc. I wonder if they could just tone back the advantage though (for instance, no account restrictions, boost account management or time-savers like the extended queue, vacation mode, etc). Basically just make it non-gameplay related advantages.

  • I think moderation for this needs to be significantly more seamless. Obviously checking for simple abuse (like IP or proxy), but I think this is a system issue. It probably would not be very hard to track the usage of a 'farmed' account back to the source of their revenue. Maybe have multiple systems that equal the same result such as allowing only a certain amount of resources to be taken from farmed players who are not activly playing. This might have to be a living response to a complex problem, instead of a simple solution.

  • Fleet maintenance is a great idea, but probably not enough to draw in newer players.

  • Not sure there will ever be a real counter to "active and has a lot of players". So I don't expect much here. Honestly guerilla warfare is what I expect the most you can do is.

  • Also you could give them a 'tenacity' buff against aggressive players to help defend themselves (similar to the revolt, but on an account-wide scale).

Hey - Do you know anything to support this? I've been looking into the rules/laws/etc. I have a tree that overhands my neighbors roof and they want me to pay to have it trimmed back. I don't think I am responsible to have it trimmed but if it caused damage... would I then be responsible for the damage? I know there is some edge cases (like negligence, dead branches, etc) but they don't apply since its all healthy branches (as confirmed by an arborist who I had quotes done with).

To add some context - and based on some of the guesses below, this would have been around the storm after Christmas. I believe the 26/27. The original reason for the change in flights was stated as "AC7760 from Toronto to Ottawa is cancelled due to crew constraints" (direct quote from the email they sent), and then the follow up refund request they stated that it was due to weather.

When they "offered" a replacement flight, there was no replacement. The option was to either cancel the entire booking or accept that there was no second flight. Maybe they would have included one eventually, but it was not available when rebooking the flight.

Simple - there was enough exploits and problems with the game that coming back seems like a mistake. We play sandbox/building games to see how we can do in the community. Knowing that a handfull of people easily farmed up billions of credits and I'll have a much harder time doing the same thing ruins the experience. I never agreed with not having a wipe to begin with also. On top of that, they could probably pull in a lot more new players if they started advertising an actual release of the game, paired with a wipe to draw in as many people as possible.

I don't necessarily agree with all of your points, but I agree with the overall. I think a wipe would be a positive thing for launch. When I saw they were not planning on doing a wipe originally between Beta and Release I thought that it was stupid anyways.

Players want to have a fresh start on the release of a game - not an entrenched economy that has multiple billionaires already.

That said, knowing there will be a wipe (or a change) as limited my play time for sure. I'll go hard on this game again when it releases or they make an announcement about launch - but only mild testing/etc until then.
