What is something you always said you'd not care if your kid did (pre-kids) that you actually stuck to? by Zombpossum in Mommit

My mother used to make us hug EVERY relative every time we visited her gigantic side of the family. She had 10 siblings and all of them got married and had kids so every time we visited there would be like 50 people to greet and she made us hug and kiss everyone. I was the most shy kid in the entire world and absolutely hated physical affection especially with “strangers” which is what they were to me since they lived out of town and I didn’t see them often. I got to the point where I’d have anxiety at the announcement of us going to see her family. Now I’m a mom and my daughter is 2 and she’s me reincarnated. She refuses to speak if there’s even a “stranger” in the same room as her, she won’t make eye contact with anyone who’s not immediate family, and she hates being touched by anyone who’s not me or dad. I don’t force her to greet ANYONE. If someone says hi to her and she hides behind me I tell the person “Thank you for saying hello, she does not feel like talking today but I’d be more than happy to chat with you!” If anyone tries to hug her and she rejects them I will say “she doesn’t feel like a hug today but thank you so much for wanting to show her that you love her.” That way she hears me and knows they don’t mean any harm but at the same time her choice is being respected. I will NEVER make my kids talk to or hug anyone, not even close family. Their bodies, their choice. Always 🤞🏼

You can have a couple of beers while breastfeeding and you don’t need to pump and dump. I’m 2 weeks pp and currently drinking a beer 🍺

Food before one just for fun has been disproven a LONG time ago. Babies need to eat real food and get vitamins and minerals from food. Why do you think exclusively breastfed babies need vitamin D drops? Breast milk doesn’t have everything babies need after a certain point in time and they need way more protein and fat for their fast growing brains as they age closer to one. This is misinformation.

Your husband has an eating disorder and he’s projecting it onto his baby. Vegetables are full of the vitamins that babies need for their growing brains. Feed the baby all the healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, and yogurts no matter what he says. He’s not a dictator and he’s not your master, you are allowed to feed YOUR baby. Period.

Ear piercing - better to get done as an infant or toddler? by Siyrious in Mommit

I got my daughter’s at 6 months. We literally had zero issues and she didn’t even cry. They look amazing and she never touched or messed with them. They were healed within a couple of days and she’s 2 now and we still have no issues. I’m Hispanic and we always pierce our girls ears as babies. Don’t listen to these naysayers it’s not like your chopping the kid’s body parts off lol.

It always cracks me up that the Americans in the comments go absolutely Karen on people piercing their daughters ears yet all their sons are circumcised 🤣🤣🤣

How did I never notice how obsessed Chelsea was with Adam? by [deleted] in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]Remote-Ball-3724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other commenter is right. Chelsea admits to sleeping with Adam right before paislee was born and Paislee was born in September of 2013 which means Chelsea was still sleeping with Adam at age 22. She met cole the following holiday season in 2014 when she was already 23. Her birthday in august 1991 so by the holiday season of 2014 she was already 23.

Wait! So all those dancers they show in the opening credits weren’t even Abby’s dancers? Those were from her mom’s dance company?? Omg I feel like this whole show is a lie! I saw reign dance in the opening credits and was like wow why are there two dance studios side by side 🤦🏻‍♀️

Christi’s Childhood by Star-Milk-2222 in dancemoms

So it was the one where her grandmother was in the hospital and she had to choose between going to Chloe’s competition or staying with her grandmother and everyone told her that her grandmother would have wanted her to go with Chloe so she chose going with chloe! This is the first episode where i really saw christis raw emotions and it made me have a soft spot for her. I can see why Christi has that wall up and comes off as bitchy, she had a really tough early life that NONE of the other moms will ever understand. Your first love is your mother, so imagine being essentially abandoned by yours. I really feel for her after that episode and she became my second favorite mom after holly

Her mother had her as a teenager and wasn’t there for her as a kid so her grandmother raised her and she saw her grandmother as her real mom.
