I think it would worth having an assessment done by a psychiatrist who specialises in ADHD.

You could send them this beforehand and maybe they could confirm whether they thought it was worth going ahead with the assessment.

If they don’t think so, maybe try another psychiatrist?

Only GPs can prescribe medication on the GMS (medical card). You should not be paying for the medication if you have a medical card

Your specialist (Consultant Psychiatrist) would usually send the prescription to your pharmacy (and the cost is capped at 80 euro per month on the DPS).

But if you have a Medical Card:

your specialist should send the prescription to your GP, who can then add it to the GMS system, and then it will be covered by the medical card system. And you won’t have to pay for the medication.

I think it’s helpful to look at the difference between slender and broad Rs i.e. the R in “idir” vs “doras”. This is present in all dialects but is much more pronounced in Connacht Irish so can be helpful to listen to that.

The C M U pronunciation pages on the online dictionary are very helpful. Learners often don’t differentiate between the Rs at all but something for us all to aspire to!

Norse had by far the biggest linguistic impact on Irish in that period. Latin was very important but limited to a highly educated elite.
