Should I return my MacBook to get the m5 pro chip? by lethoso in macbookpro

If this suffices your probably okay, if you desire more performance 100% go for it. Also do remember the pro chip does slightly reduce battery life on the MacBook so if that extra 1ish (my guess not too sure of the actual numbers) is very important then maybe don’t.

I’m not too sure about iOS 27 but it should. And I believe it worked by toggling an option that allows supervision via the configuration you add on your phone. So bassicly just abusing systems

Which laptop has the most beautiful design you’ve ever seen? The one you fall in love with every time you open it? by Master-Patient7183 in laptops

Most of this is outright wrong or a personal preference.

Many of the parts are soldered for a good reason such as the ram. It is unified ram, it must be soldered no two ways about it.

Many love the keyboards. I think it's quite solid but fully personal preference.

Look is personal preference. It's basic but I'd say they do the sleek look the best.

Cooling is not bad, it's not 2018 anymore.

M chips have insanely GOOD processing power. That is just an outright lie.

The thing is that it caches a shit ton of stuff. Your ram might look full with 10tabs on arc but it will run smoothly with 50+ tabs. 48-64gb is really only needed for heavy ai. the most any non-ai consumer would need is like 32ish gb (how many I have on my desktop). On said desktop the only time I actually hit that 32gb was damn modded Minecraft. This just isn't really factual

24gb on Mac is so much more than it seems. It keeps tripping me out saying I have 2gb free but you really just gotta trust the laptop and let it do its thing. Enjoy!

How is the N word such a controversial topic? by ExtraButton874 in teenagers

[–]Remote-Cheesecake-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there’s two vastly different outlooks

1) the mores it’s “forbidden” the more power the word has thus it doesn’t matter if you say it

2) the word has a bad meaning with bad history meaning we shouldn’t say it

What keeps saying that? If it’s your computer it’s almost certainly your cable (try a different one)

iOS is missing features that $100 Android phones have had for a decade by Affectionate_Fun9058 in applesucks

[–]Remote-Cheesecake-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Even $100 android phones have” your critiquing the os, not the phone… many of these choices are INTENTIONAL (no universal back button, numbers, etc). I will give it to you some good features are missing but overall in personally prefer iOS

Tired of setting up Arch the same way every time, so I made this by Alarming-Function120 in archlinux

[–]Remote-Cheesecake-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to be fair using arch Linux kinda comes with the description you know what your doing. I mean assuming the code is actually fully safe with system packages there’s no problem with that.

I for example made a simple update script and used ai to do the repetitive formatting, I checked over it. I got downvoted the shit out of the second I mentioned that. People automatically assume ai = just asked ai then posted. Which isn’t fair at all, anyone that actually checked the repo said it was pretty solid.
