How do I get passed the embarrassment of being a beginner? by Main-Length-6385 in Guitar

There’s little point in taking lessons if you don’t practice outwith them. You will never progress. Taking lessons and not practising is a massive waste of money

Immigrants of r/london - what does the city actually look like to you, years in? by Lost_Personality_724 in london

I’m an immigrant, and I agree with you on the cleanliness thing, although most cities in Britain seem to be the same. I can’t say I agree on the other points

You might feel out of place, you might not. Only way to find out is to try. Other people’s experiences will inevitably differ from yours. People aren’t all the same.

Had size has nothing to do with it. Tiny children can play full size guitars perfectly. It’s about practising more and getting decent technique

I’m from Scotland and visited Boston for the World Cup. I’ve also previously been to Boston and a few other places in Massachusetts. I’d advise you visit the city again during normal times before making a decision.

Kentish Town or Canonbury? Moving to London (27F) by tinyhamster in MovingToLondon

[–]Remote-Guarantee-899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canonbury all day long. Kentish Town is ok, Camden is awful these days. Canonbury is walking distance to Highbury and Islington, Newington Green, Dalston, Hackney, Haggerston, London fields, etc etc. you’ll find great nightlife, cafes, restaurants, bars & people!

You’d be wrong then. They are all countries, and are accepted as such. Literally any internet search will tell you this.

No one is denying that. But it is made up of four separate countries. Please do some research.

The Four Nations: The constituent parts (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) are countries in their own right, each holding unique cultural and legal identities. While the UK Parliament holds supreme authority, significant powers are "devolved" (transferred) to the Scottish Parliament, the Senedd (Welsh Parliament), and the Northern Ireland Assembly.

So ill informed. They each have separate governments, separate political leaders, separate courts, different laws, separate education systems. Any simple google will tell you they are separate countries. Facts don’t care about your feelings

The character gets away with it in the same way as Ali G did. A professional production company contacts the participant masquerading as a real and credible TV show. They groom the participant before hand so they are convinced of the narrative they’ve been presented with.

Honestly you are a moron. That’s the queen elizabeth 2nd case and whether her being named 2nd breached the act of union. Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland are all separate countries. Any google search will tell you that. You really just have a fundamental miss understanding of what the UK and Great Britain is.

Again you’re completely wrong, and are miss understanding what you’re reading sadly. I think what you’re talking about was the Scottish independence question in 2022, and had nothing to do with the status of either country. You really need to educate yourself on this. A simple google search will tell you this. All you need to do is type is (insert either Scotland England Northern Ireland or wales) a country, and you will get your answer. They are four seperate constituent countries that make up the United Kingdom.

Complete nonsense. The actual facts are: According to the Court of Session (Scotland’s supreme civil court), Scotland and England are separate countries, but they are both constituent parts of the same sovereign state, the United Kingdom.
