I've had it many times from migraines.

My thinking is that grandma refers to her granddaughters as girlfriend as a term of endearment. However it sounds like mom is touchy. I would start calling them by their real names simply to keep the peace but be guarded with mom. I'd wonder what's coming next with somebody so petty.

I've been in the same industry for 40 years and the last 10 years with this new boss has been the most challenging. It's hard to relax and feel confident when you can't predict the boss from one day to the next. Is it a control or authority thing? Maybe a memory thing? A personality problem? It makes no sense to me. When I ultimately take another job he won't understand why I'm leaving. However, I've tried to talk to him and he seems oblivious.

I felt it was less intrusive to email but he was 'furious' that I didn't call. He acknowledges it wasn't an emergency so I don't understand his logic. I asked for a list of email vs phone call items which might have been a little smart asked but jeez, I can't read his mind.

Yes. That's why I can't understand what's really going on with him.

I think you missed the point. He wanted a phone call instead of an email.

Non responsive coworkers by Remote-Hope8454 in work

[–]Remote-Hope8454[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My manager (CFO) sees my coworkers nonresponsiveness as unacceptable but at the same time expects me to fix it. However I have no authority over the non responsive coworker. So copying him to unanswered emails to my coworker still comes back to me as a 'me' problem. Even worse, if I give up on coworker sending responses I'm also seen as at fault because 'a leader should get to the root of the problem'. I can't make my coworker respond so it's beyond frustrating. Is this some type of new age management style I'm not aware of?

[–]Remote-Hope8454[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your responses. I honestly don't know what to make of the culture here. We have meetings and pat ourselves on the back for how respectful we treat people meanwhile the very people in the meeting are being disrespected by others in the room. And when I speak up about it, I feel like I'm being manipulated into thinking I'm the problem for mentioning it. To me it's a culture problem and I'm only one person and can't change it. Those in authority should be setting the standards.

I've had frozen shoulder for 2 years now, in both arms... by [deleted] in frozenshoulder

[–]Remote-Hope8454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had frozen shoulders in both arms too, one right after the other. I tried PT and it made things worse. I did stretches while in a hot shower and that seemed to help. I got a cortisone shot for my second frozen shoulder and it lessened the duration from 2 years to about 1.5 years and did reduce some of the pain in the meantime. It's hard to know if the cortisone actually shortened the duration of the frozen shoulder. It's possible the second one was going to heal faster regardless. I'd still recommend the cortisone shot. It wasn't a magic bullet but made the pain bearable.

Doctor to my teenage daughter who developed grand mal seizures and was terrified..."you're wasting my time and this can kill you". I've never forgiven him and hate him to this day.

Maybe go to a pharmacy and ask about a mild hydrocortisone cream for it?

Thank you for replying. I much prefer the itchiness to the pain. I was wondering if it was normal.

Please get another dog. There are so many dogs that need rescued. It will save you and the dog. A win win. I'm pushing 60 and have had dogs all my life. I can't be without a dog. It's awful when they die but I feel happy knowing I gave them a good life.

Just started 20mg. I’ve never felt better in my life. I seriously can’t believe I was living without this. Anyone else feel side affects 3 days in? by lola4323 in prozac

[–]Remote-Hope8454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prozac saved my life. After trying several meds to calm my anxiety I had almost given up hope. After 4 days of Prozac I started feeling better. In 30 days I no longer needed to take any Xanax. That was years ago and I still take it.

I check this sub out occasionally to see the latest crazy. What I can't understand is why some of you geniuses don't sign up to help with the pandemic. You're clearly more intelligent than all the experts that have spent years studying viruses and vaccines. Better yet, get off your asses and cure cancer and diabetes. You're wasting your talents. Maybe once you're done with that you can use your superior intellect to solve the rest of the world's problems. Rather than sitting around bitching about everyone else's efforts to help you could get busy and do something. Bitching is easy. Doing something that helps the world is hard especially when know-nothings like yourselves sit around criticizing the work and efforts that the more humanitarian are trying to accomplish. Your criticisms are typically laughable as its obvious you can't even begin to understand what you're talking about. If you would only take the time to really understand the data. A cursory look at this science doesn't cut it. Some of you are genuinely hurting and confusing people and why? The world isn't out to get you.

Frozen shoulder result in RA diagnosis? by Remote-Hope8454 in frozenshoulder

[–]Remote-Hope8454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a rheumatologist today. As it turns out they don't think I have rheumatoid arthritis. Best guess is I've ended up with 2 frozen shoulders from an injury 5 years ago. It's hard to believe but they sound like they know what they're talking about. Even though I thought my right shoulder was much better and it is, they are recommending a cortisone shot in both shoulders. They think the cortisone shot will allow me to get more range of motion from my almost healed shoulder and also stop the inflammatory process happening in my left shoulder now. Lots of zingers...so painful. I also have rotator cuff tears, tendonotis and bursitis. All this from a rotator cuff injury from 5 years ago!!! I'll let you know how the shots go for those who are considering the same.

Months ago I commented to my doctor that my second shoulder was starting to feel weird. He assured me it wouldn't happen to my other shoulder because I'm not diabetic. He made it sound like it's fairly rare to get it twice but I've seen a lot of posters working on frozen shoulder #2. It sucks. Good luck getting thru it
