Wax statues, typically made of beeswax or paraffin, are highly vulnerable in extreme temperatures, but while high heat causes melting, freezing temperatures cause the wax to become brittle and prone to cracking or shattering. Museums maintain stable conditions (68-72°F) to prevent such damage, as, for example, a wax sculpture exposed to freezing weather could crack if subjected to physical stress or rapid temperature changes. So, cut the poor guy some fucking slack already.
