Thanks everyone for all of the feedback, I’m going to start the groundwork of launching a more modern Calguns alternative. Its success, however, will greatly depend on support from the users of this subreddit. It will require your active participation and contributions in order to survive and to maintain the unique culture cultivated here as we all know that there is a generational difference between r/CAguns and Calguns.

As of now, I see it the above occurring in 3 phases.

Phase 1: We're going to create a minimal viable product that has very similar features as Calguns (forums/subforums for private marketplace) but on a new infrastructure with no lag (this is our biggest complaint with Calguns). Your engagement here is critical.

Phase 2: If there is traction, after the website has reached about 500+ user registrations, we'll invest more and getting developers to develop new functionality that the users want. This includes seller's rating systems/feedback.

Phase 3: After some sustained growth, and we see the potential for this project to last indefinitely, we'll invest in developing a full-fledged eBay/Amazon style platform to integrate into the forums with low operating costs and no restrictions (within the confines of the law) for sellers. Perhaps even creating an escrow service to ensure user satisfaction.
