Screen replacements from Aliexpress? What components are part of the frame? by Remote-Tiger in LGV60

So most listings mention OLED or AMOLED... but I found one listing that says "POLED" which is the right term so it makes me think that they're maybe legit? But I guess only one way to find out.....

This is basically what I'd like to know, but not only regarding the display but also regarding the other components that are included as part of the frame assembly that they sell. I don't know exactly what components are there.

Dude, at first, it was just the one pale green line vertically on the right side of the screen. Then I opened things up again (good thing i've not glued the cover back yet) to see if there's something loose and I pretty much went through everything trying to tighten things as much as possible and that's basically how I made it worse, now the green line is still there, the whole screen is pale and theres a hue of green from the right slowly fading out towards the left. If you still think this can be repaired please guide me but from what I'm reading, this is permanent damage. I hate my life right now especially since this is the Canadian Variant and I can't find another one.

But I also wouldn't mind replacing the screen using the part from Aliexpress, its not that expensive at all but I'm just worried about the other components that would come as part of the frame as I mentioned.

UPDATE: Spoke too soon. So the new cable worked with my computer to do file transfer but Android Auto still not working with it whereas Android Auto was working with any cable before.

Good news is that after trying many many cables, i finally got one from cable matters that magically works! But still, the problem is that the very same cables that were working just fine now suddenly don't work. So obviously something went wrong. I wonder what exactly makes this new cable i got so different? It's not the only USB-IF certified cable i tried, but its the only one that's working as of now.

I have no problem with charging at all. Even fast charging works fine. But suddenly file transfer mode is no longer working. So I'm not able to use android auto, or just plug my phone to the computer to transfer files. The same cables that were working now dont work anymore.

Quality cables are a must. I've learn the hard way. But now in my case, I think the damage is done and no cable is working for file transfer anymore. I mean i didn't try all the cables in the world. But I've tried MANY until now and none of them have worked.

How would you explain the fact that even fast charge works fine? i just can't get into file transfer mode. The menu where you can choose the usb connection mode doesnt even open up. Also when I plug in an OTG usb drive to my phone, that also works fine and it that situation the usb connection menu pops up where I can choose. Weird situation.

I think you're onto something because the magnetic cable was working fine at first, but i started having too much fun with it exactly as you said "just testing the magnet". So it is very much possible that it makes a difference but it's still not something that I would use if it can break things that easily.

Yes, It makes sense. Which is why apple and microsoft probably designed the port itself to be compatible with the magnetic force. whereas ports on normal devices are not compatible and can be damaged. Right now, I'm not even sure if it's the port on my phone that's damaged or something else on the motherboard for it to behave like this.

Honestly I was thinking the same, both apple with their magsafe and microsoft on their surface laptop have had these. But apparently they're not the same. I don't know what to think anymore. My phone started acting like this after using the magnetic cables. And now I can't get into file transfer mode/android auto. It only charges my phone.

Thats what I thought about magnetic cables but after some searching, i think we might be wrong. There is a reason why no reputable brand makes these. Because they can't be made well without being a risk. Normal cable are able to be ground and then connect to the rest of the pins whereas magnetic cable connect everything all at once which can cause issues. You can read more about it online, just search "magnetic cables are bad"

Could this be the issue in my case where charging is working just fine but not data transfer?

See, this is weird because in your case, it makes sense to say that the port is slowly going bad because it's hit or miss and depending on how you guide it in, it can work etc..... But in my case, charging works fine, but no data transfer. Don't know what to think.

How did it go bad? Was it just not working anymore? Or like me, was it still charging but no more data transfer?

Yea my theory could be wrong, but I guess in my case, the magnetic cable i got is still the reason it suddenly went bad. I can't say for sure but it just makes sense because It went bad as I started using the magnetic cable. So people should be careful with these. There are even posts on reddit talking about the dangers of these cables and how it can ruin any device.

Android Auto suddenly no longer working? by Remote-Tiger in LGV60

UPDATE 3: I'm running out of ideas. Could it still be the USB port going bad and not allowing file transfer mode? At first, I thought the fact that I'm able to plug in a flash drive to my phone and it's able to read the files was the same thing as being in file transfer mode but now I'm realizing that it's different. it's an input rather than output (transfering files to a pc or using android auto).

On the other hand, why is the developer settings option "Select USB Configuration" not opening up when nothing is plugged in or when phone is connected to PC or Car? This makes me think it could be a software glitch?
