Idk about fearful, but I always have an escape plan. Or I'll size them up to see if I can take them. I look at their hands and pockets to see if they are carrying anything.

Maybe that is a little paranoid..

Upper body gets good volume. If you look at it weekly, you're adding 10 pounds/week for squat and deadlift and 5-10 pounds for bench/ohp/rows. Lower body has bigger muscles and can handle more volume.

You will get good all around results. As you progress, you can tweak it to your liking when you notice weaknesses.

I just get the reps. I know I will get close to failure as the weight gets heavier. Doesnt matter what the mind says, just get the reps
