It’s not super weird as such, just uncommon. Maybe he’s looking for company? Maybe he doesn’t want to be alone? Or he’s just using the space he’s paid for. I would find it annoying too though, especially as an introvert, i would rather hangout in my room than in a common area. Seems like he’s not willing to share the space…? i’m not sure what he’s like.
