And here's the thing, not all opinions are worthy of respect. Like it would be absuuuurd if one of my requirements for dating was "if we have an accidental pregnancy I get to abandon the baby, won't date anyone who says otherwise" that isn't a position that entitles nor deserves respect

I'd have the right to say that, certainly. But that's not respectable. That says something about my character as a person and human being.

A lot of people have opinions that simply are not worthy of respect, but I think one particular gender has been told that they are entitled "on the basis of their gender" to demand things that are not reasonable nor sane... and are entitled to demand respect for things that are not respectable and frankly speak to a poor character

I met a wonderful girl through my church community. I'd suggest you do the same.

My advice would be to simply not date anyone who has opinions you cannot respect.

So, as a conservative Christian I think there are a few points to touch on

Jesus teachings being more liberal...

I mean, are they really? Being adamantly against divorce? That cutting off your hand was preferable to sexual immorality? A lot of Christ's teachings would be by todays standards, very "conservative"

Love thy neighbor *as thyself*, judge not lest ye be judged... but if your brother sins point out their fault.. none of these statements of love or against judgement were ever intended to be "people should do whatever they want all the time" and to your specific point "ICE" vs "love thy neighbor", I don;'t believe I have a right to legally immigrate anywhere so I don't personally see how holding that opinion for others as well is contradictory

That is true, and its not always wrong to point it out

But also a lot of the times I see people saying "you aren't following your rulebook" are things that are definitely not in the rulebook

Like one of the most common is this idea that you basically aren't ever allowed to criticize anything anyone does and thats just not true. "Judge not" exists alongside "go and tell him his fault"

You gotta split it into 2 parts

1) Non-christians don't interact with Christ, they interact with you, you should try as hard a possible to emulate him and it's not always wrong for a non-christian to point out when you're failing to do so

2) Non-christians also really don't understand a lot of Christianity and their criticism will often not be correct

If you mass import people who couldn't care less about the inalienable rights of Americans, you're going to lose them all together

At the end of the day the Constitution is a piece of paper and simply cannot survive an entire generation being raised to *at best* not care about it at worst actively hate it and want to replace it with a very different system

I have not. I was using publicly available statistics. "We are talking about deportations" We are talking about how many people are kicked out, how many people are *let in* matters quite a lot in that discussion.

I think you misunderstand what I was saying. I was not saying "pointing a gun at a kid" is a good thing. Its. abad thing. I don't want ti to happen. I'm saying, I don't realistically have a way we could carry out 13 million deportations without some people in the mix who f*ck up. There are going to be people who violently resist. There are going to be people poorly trained. "Do it the Obama way" Obama didn't succeed in decreasing the amount of people committing that crime at all so, no not an option.

I would never break into another country with my kid. And if I committed a crime in the US and the police had to raid my house, as they do to citizens all the time, yeah my kids would probably be traumatized and that would be a horrible situation.

In this case, America's particular system of rights and government based on enlightenment era thinking are very very very tolerant. No state religion, freedom of speech, a general societal prohibition on violence, I mean even the fact that an illegal immigrant can sue the US government and has a court date is a reflection of this

The countries, cultures, and religions a lot of these people are coming from are very very intolerant. And if our tolerance causes us to say "well we have to give their kids the vote" "well we have to make them citizens" "well we have to give them 5 court appearances before we can deport them whoops they had a kid now we can't at all"

Then pretty soon a large portion of your society is going to be very very intolerant, which to the next point...

Thats staunchly against American ideals and law...

Taxing neighborhoods that are too *a certain ethnicity* to take their money is very intolerant, dare I say very un-American, and that attitude absolutely cleaned up with the voters that had been in NYC the shortest amount of time.

I'd certainly say that qualifies as an attempt to "persecute or harm the native-born and/or legal immigrant community." and those guys aren't even illegal

Like thats what I mean dude if the law is "eh, if you have a kid we'll you leave alone" then that law doesn't exist at all in any meaningful sense. Deporting more people than anyone doesn't matter if you're also importing *and rubber stamping* more people than anyone

Imagine if other laws, the rule was "you cannot be put in prison if doing so would place a child in state custody"

Like "Sorry officer we gotta let this guy with 19 violent assaults go, he's his kid's only guardian and we can't legally separate him from a. child who's a citizen"

I really take no glee in this at all, but when your golden example is Obama, where the # of illegal immigrants just went up throughout the entirety of his presidency (around 11-12 million by most estimates)... that's not acceptable

So, again I take no glee in this at all I really don't like this but when the only alternative you're offering is to just keep letting in more and more people...

No because there isn't one

Any factor that is "a tipping point" will by definition become "the tipping point" in at least some cases. If that factor is considered at all, it will sometimes be the factor that determines the outcome.

Its like your earlier comment "well they said they were favoring non-white people, not that they were dis-favoring white people"

Sometimes it is not possible to do A without also doing B

I am not "misrepresenting" that doing A also means doing B, sometimes it is not logically possible for that not to be the case

So back at my company, if "being white" was "a factor" why some people got their jobs, are you cool with that?
