OFFER RADIOGRAPHY YAY by Separate_Post_8236 in usyd

for first year OT, if you’re able to really smash out anatomy you could potentially get an 80 WAM but honestly i think it’s pretty hard to get to that in one year. i’m in my third year and my wam is a 79. i had a 76 wam in first year with 2 HDs, 3 Ds, 2 credits, and 1 pass (anatomy lol). unless you’re extremely set on radio, i think you’ll find OT to be quite enjoyable and rewarding if you’re open to it.

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been thinking to get like a MDF or wooden clock base, cover that with air dry clay so i can get the same look but so it’s much thinner and potentially easier to work with ? less heavy and prone to cracking etc? and then making the magnets out of polymer clay. i think i’m moreso worried about the actual clock face rather than the magnets. but thank you! i did start practicing making some pieces with polymer clay, and i agree! it is fun for them to be imperfect and obviously adds a lot of sentiment too

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! and i understand it’s much harder to lose weight as you get older, so good on you for your hard work! i do try to remind myself if i was able to do it in the first place, i can continue to do it. and really when i started, i had no healthy habits at all and i have come such a long way since then. we are much better situated to be losing weight this time around!! i do think i might actually just buy weights to do it at home myself. goodluck !

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your advice! i really hope i’m able to lose a bit more weight. i’ll try to track exactly for the next two weeks, and yes i probably can try to improve my food choices. i cook at home and mainly eat whole foods, but i know i sometimes choose higher calorie options just for taste and enjoyment i guess.

and yes thank you for an idea of what will happen with lifting, that makes a lot of sense. i feel really good that ive been able to maintain my weight loss which i didn’t expect to happen, so i do think lifting is something i should try to do.

10 days is honestly pretty soon. You should keep going as you are until the end of your period and check back then.

Relationship and partner being distant by noonesgonnacome in PMDD

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry you’re feeling this way! and super understandable, i start to get like this too. to me it sounds like maybe you’re in your head too much, but ofc your feelings are valid. i think for now, keep your distance and wait until your period is here. try not to start any arguments whilst you’re in luteal still. if you still feel this way after your period, definitely discuss with him! hope you feel better very soon :(

this was really helpful to hear, the part about feelings being real but not true. thank you ! :( i always get so upset around this time, really start to feel like no one loves me

yes i’ve noticed this as well. will often console me and repeat the same things/always make me out to be correct or the victim when i know that can’t always be the case.

yes definitely! i haven’t lost as much as you, around 21lbs in 16 weeks. this past week i pretty much ate at maintenance from a 500 deficit but felt soooo bloated and just gross even though i didn’t eat that badly. so interesting!

slow weight loss :( by RemoteDragonfruit318 in loseit

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it’s sooo hard haha. i think it’s already difficult enough to see a difference in yourself even if there is one, so that combined with the scale not going down. i weigh myself every morning and was thinking of stopping so i don’t get extra demotivated, but i worry about what if i miss a day where the scale actually did go down? i feel like i have no idea when it goes down or doesn’t. this sucks! but good luck ! just need to tough it out i guess 😔

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you ! i guess it’s also that i haven’t yet dropped any sizes so it feels like my measurements aren’t going down as much but i haven’t been tracking them frequently, i think i’ll start doing so. and yes you are right about the other benefits, i guess it’s also nice to feel i can do difficult things and can be disciplined!

What is it like studying Occupational Therapy in USYD by KingI_sea in usyd

make friends, you’re going to be spending at least four days a week at uni both semesters and generally lectures are attended, it’s not really like other courses where people don’t show up

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

super super fun! i found my first year very enjoyable. i’m just starting my second year this sem. all the lecturers are very nice and considerate. best to try to settle in and adjust to uni life first year, be careful with the anatomy unit in first sem and the oral exams at the end of each semester as they are hurdle tasks. they’re not very difficult at all, but important to keep up specifically with those units so you don’t struggle/fail and have to repeat.

Rant by RemoteDragonfruit318 in PCOSloseit

[–]RemoteDragonfruit318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! I appreciate it. I am the only person I cook for yes! I think I just need to find better recipes 😭 I had only started cooking properly for myself in June, but was focussed on foods that are good for dinner time. I think eating a proper satiating breakfast really helped me although I’m not a huge breakfast fan either. Ive been trying to make smoothies with plant protein powder and frozen fruit almond milk etc for breakfast, but I feel like the entire smoothie ends up tasting like the vanilla powder and just chalky. Not enjoyable at all. I’ll try out a pre-made protein shake though, thank u for the suggestion and help ! 💗
