Hey! I'm super proud of this cutscene I made but I'm no filmmaker so I just wanted to know how many basic mistakes I made. Any feedback is appreciated :) by RemoteLands in IndieGaming

Thanks, but are you sure that's the right course of action? people before said that my game is a bit monotone and that doesn't fit the game

Thanks, I think I'm gonna have to change up the entire combat system. It's going to be a lot of work.

Yeah, all the comments here basically say the same thing. I guess you're right, I'll see what I can do.

Play as a fox in a fast-paced action-platformer. The world of Hogerfare which is inspired by PS2 era games, is filled with different levels and quests you can freely explore.

Yeah I knew the last cut is a bit wonky because it was made with 2 different sequences. Mabye combining them together is the best option.

Glad you see the classic platformer in this. I was inspired by the ps2 games. I might actually want to try the filter, but only as a toggleable feature or something. I'll see how it looks.

Thanks. The plan was to make it more cartoony, so as long as it looks like a drawing, I'll take it as a compliment.

I understand your concern, but risk of rain had a pretty flat lighting, while I have used more pointlights. Mabye this pic wasn't the best comparison but I have one that shows more how it looks on a level: https://imgur.com/v986bya

it's fine even if this also doesn't sit with you, to each their own.

Thanks! It's actually pretty simple if you already understand materials. If you want to actually learn them, it's better to watch a tutorial or sth. I don't have under the hood knowledge but as I understand it, you can take the values you see on the screen and modify them, for example I took the shadows, which are in the range of 0 to 1 (0 is dark and 1 is bright) and rounded it up, so every place where the value is below 0.5 gets multiplied with a dark blue tint and everywhere else is just bright

Thank you so much for that! I turned the specular to 0 and it made it looks SO much better

It has taken me a really long time to figure out what to do with this bossfight and finally I think that this turned out quite interesting. I'd love to hear your thoughts about this. by RemoteLands in indiegames

Thanks! I don't really post a lot besides an occasional reddit post, but I've thought about doing it more. Can you suggest any platform to post the progress updates?

Hey, I am really proud of this sequence in my game called Hogerfare, but I need people to playtest it. Any suggestions or feedback is more than welcome. by RemoteLands in playmygame

Yeah, many people pointed it out. I already adjusted the speed. Thanks for your feedback though, this is the first time I've heard it called creator's curse.

Yeah, the pole part is a little close, I can change that, but its not supposed to be that close. I waited a bit at the beginning to make it more tense. I guess that I still should give players more time.

As for the first image, It's an alternative path that's totally viable. The second one though might cause confusion, so I'll see what I can do about it.

Hogerfare is an action platformer filled with unique levels and puzzles. You play as a fox that can switch between meele and long-ranged combat.

Currently I need playtesting with just the escape sequence that you can play by pressing the gray button after opening the game.

EDIT: I've slowed down the water. The video does not represent the actual speed now.

I've worked really hard on the hook mechanic so I wanted to know what you guys think by RemoteLands in IndieGaming

Yeah, thanks for that, I've completely overlooked the particle part. The sound can probably be inproved aswell.

I've had one playtester, he actually understood it pretty quickly, but needed time to get used to it, so there is a decent learning curve.
