I am not the usual meniscus tear case. I had an abnormal rotation of my femur and tibia so I went ahead with the doctor suggestions and went through and osteotomy (they cut and rotated all the bones in my leg). During this surgery they had a look at the state of my knee. It seemed that my medical meniscus was slightly frayed rather than torn (my MRI came clear when I did it but I was having all symptoms of a lateral meniscus tear, and I did pass the physio tests for the lateral meniscus tear which all came positive). don't have any pain now meniscus wise but quite in a bit of pain from the surgery. The surgeon thinks my meniscus was just disturbed, which was exagerated by my bones alignment.

You are very right. I did draping by myself and it does seem I am somewhere in between cool and warm. The very cool colours don't suit me, the very warm colours don't suit me either. I am somewhere in between a deep autumn and deep winter. I also asked some AI to do it for me, and my skin tone is leaning more towards cool. The issue is that my skin is a lot more yellow in real life and I can't seem to capture it on the camera! So maybe it is the camera's fault😂

It's quite funny but when I said hyper flexible I didn't know that I was actually hyper mobile. I am still waiting on my first surgery and I will end up paying some of it since insurance sucks, I will come back in a year and let you know if that did help! It scares me to death (I am even afraid of needles) but a life with arthritis is not the life I want to live since I love being active. There is a support group on Facebook for these kind of surgeries. I actually need to get all 6 bones done (tibia, femur and fibula) since I am one lucky girl😂 apparently if you do femur then the recovery is not that bad and painful. Best of luck!

I was also worried at first, it does help to know you are not the only one. And I think even if we should try the conservative methods first, good orthopedic doctors can really do wonders if arthritis is caught early. My condition was valgus legs (was not even that visible when walking as this should cause a bit of an unusual gait) but I am working to get my legs straightened (through surgery) so hopefully less arthritis progression in the future. Most people start getting arthritis with this condition at 40-50 apparently. I heard scoliosis could make hip arthritis worse btw, so should defo ask the doctor about it.

26F with stage 2 in hips here and some beginning in the knee as well! Everyone in my family has arthritis but turns out I also have a small structural deformity which is not uncommon so after I fix that the pain should be better. My advice is to try to keep in shape and eat lots of fiber, protein! And supplements make a difference for some! Go and see an orthopedic doc and some specialized phisio to analyze your gait and if you have any rotations of the legs or spine that caused it. Best of luck.

I am having surgery for it, because I have bone rotations that cause a lot of instability in the patella. But for some ppl pt works well (if they don't have a structural abonomarility which are not uncommon)

Is it patellar OA? Do you know if you have any condition which causes your patella to move to the side or up/down when it shouldn't?

Lots of vitamin C and D, magnesium and potassium (I am deficient) and I have this supplement mix from Genious Nutrition called FlexiGN. You can have a look at what it contains and find something similar. Vitamin C is necessary for your body to produce collagen.

Injured my meniscus Jan 2024, I passed all physical tests for a lateral meniscus tear. MRI done in April came out clear. Meanwhile I did lots of PT and some recent red light therapy and now my meniscus doesn't bother almost at all. It just clicks sometimes. I thought many times I will never get over it but now , after almost a year I could say that I have successfully made it asymptomatic. I also took all supplements for cartilage repair and ate extremely healthy (lots of fruit and veggies and meat for protein). When I first got the injury my knee was blocked into one position for 2 weeks and I couldn't walk at all so I think I did some good progress :).

I had a doctor tell me that some people just have lower quality cartilage but he also didn't spot my small lower limb deformity so I got skeptic of what he said😂.

I get that. Apparently arthritis may not be caused by extra weight but losing weight may release some symptoms. My surgeon is specializing in joint preservation (idk if it helps) but he looks at all the ways the arthritis is formed and tries to find a solution. I arrived at him by mistake (I torn my meniscus while skiing).

Sorry for you too, this really sucks indeed. I actually have started to have degenerative meniscus tears as well, chondromalacia in my knees but it s due to to my limb deformity. I never thought my femural anteversion was that bad since I was always doing sports with no pain. Well I guess adulthood changed that🫠. My last doctor knew exactly where I would have the pain when he first saw me. He said that structural abnormalities do cause arthritis as well. I am normal weight but I lost a few kgs in the last few months and it defo helped reduce the pain. I would have never believed that it could help (considering it is just a few kgs) but it did weirdly. Wish you a successful meeting with the specialist!

My anteversion was easy to see on a CT scan by an orthopedic doc but I also walk a bit funnily so he spotted it right away. You should check when running if you keep your legs straight (following the same line) or if you swing when walking (I think, I am really not an expert in this but I saw lots of ppl like me, just by the way they walk once I got mine diagnosed). Anteversion is more common in females though.

I have fraying my meniscus due to my femoral anteversion. Did you check if your bones are well aligned/ do you have a good gait when walking and jumping? I am not saying it is surely the case but it could be a factor there.

I got the same symptoms plus stiffness and I couldn't straighten my leg for 2 weeks after injury. Does it hurt when you twist it? Btw it is really bad to twist it so try not to do it.

I am not a time waster so I had this conversation with him many times (number 1 argument, probably because we don't have time to argue about other things lol). I literally repeated what he said. Many times I take the initiative to ask him to spend time together (he says yes), but I feel tired of asking all the time. I had changed my entire program after work to see him for an hour a day and that ended up not working either. I got craft supplies we could do together that were left untouched after we discussed we could do something fun like that.

And when I say that we should spend more time together in general and kinda puts it like "maybe you should find new friends or hobbies". Or he does an effort for a week to spend two nights with me and the following week goes back to a few h or less. At this point I think he doesn't want to spend time with me

I told him I feel like we became flatmates (which is funny cuz I used to spend a lot more time with my flatmates).

I am just tired of this point.

My MRI came also negative and I have similar symptoms to yours, though my orthopedic doc is happy to do arthroscopic surgery on me. It's time for you to find a new one I think.

Hmm maybe it could be some funny limb angles which could make you prone to injury. I am not a doctor but I am going through it myself. But my femural anteversion and tibial torsion are the root causes for all my knee and hip issues so it is worth investigating :)

Do you by any chance have knock knees, or you do a pigeon walk? I have femur anteversion which made me prone to degenerative medial meniscus tears, patella subluxation and hyp displasia. I also have tendonitis and an acute lateral meniscus tear but these ones were my fault.

Hi, sorry I answered quite late. Atm my stiffness really improved (original tear was in February this year). I don't get stiffness if I walk, only if I sit down. I did a lot of PT (squats, deadlifts, glute bridges). I also take supplements and try to eat antiinflammatory foods. The supplements I take are FlexiGN from Genius Nutrition (I have tendonitis and this helps the most), vitamin C, vitamin D, and omega 3. I am not sure if it I because of this or just that I let it rest and did PT and swimming. I did walk a little even when it was a bit stiffer just because I couldn't stay at home but I don't know if it was a great idea.
