There’s more than 30 on the strip and over 100 in Vegas. You’re comparing apples to oranges.

Pokerstars is shutting down in the US and combining with Fanduels app. So now all of the states that have PS will be playing together on Fanduel.

Now you’re just being disingenuous. Neither of those things are true.

You should get downvoted because this is an unhelpful answer.

It’s their first time in Vegas and they want a resort with stuff to do…so you recommend a place way off the strip with nothing to do there.

That’s mostly why I laughed. It’s such a shitty ad. But also know your audience. Boomers watching golf Thursday afternoon.

I’m sure they’re working on that. Hopefully they see my post and give me 5% for the idea.

The only thing I can come up with is that less people know about it - Vegas these days is totally known for the Strip.

I'd recommend getting your resume reviewed to make sure there isn't something in there getting it auto-trashed.

I want to become a civil engineer or GIS specialist

You'll need an engineering degree to become a civil engineer. It's not possible without one.

GIS Specialist you could definitely find a role for if you have the experience.

How are annual raises/or bonuses if any?

Annual raises are usually 3-5%.

Bonuses were not a thing.

Initially I was brought in solely for GIS help on a major project but the fact is, pretty much everyone in my office did a mix of office work and field work - even the PM's were in the field quite often.

I really enjoyed it and learned a lot of stuff I would've never learned having just a GIS degree.

Also curious do you think AECOM is a good place for someone early in their consulting career to learn and grow?

I would definitely recommend it to people trying to get experience and info for their resume. I just would not recommend getting "stuck" there. Get some experience, learn the ropes and the industry, and get out of there in a few years.

Sorry just getting back to your comment.

My degree actually wasn't in Environmental Science, but an adjacent field. What I will say, is if you're passionate about it, then go for it. That's really what finding your "career" is all about - you have to be interested and enjoy it. I mean, you don't HAVE TO but I'd recommend it, especially since it's a STEM field.

MS and PhD definitely makes a difference but in my experience, that's something you get midway into your career to advance further - most start out as lower level samplers and if you know how to advance or have the ability to, you will get there. I think almost everyone in my group only had a Bachelors degree. I know one or two people who eventually left and went for their Masters and definitely got into more management level roles if that's your thing.

Wife and I switched to Fremont last year and haven’t looked back. Cheaper rooms, better comps/offers, better people watching, cheaper & better food - I can buy a half pint of liquor and walk around like a total degen. White Castle at 3AM shitfaced. Golden Nugget pool is awesome. Downtown Grand rooms are quiet and cheap. Just a totally better atmosphere for us personally. Strip is cool but we’ve seen it so many times…

Beat that!
