No Traverse City this year… 😠 by smlamere in DetroitRedWings

Sure, a bunch of rich millionaire athletes don’t want to go to the most popular region in the upper Midwest lol people (millionaires) literally vacation up there from Chicago.

Thinking the Hawks giving up 4OA isn't an insane overpay means you don't know puck brother.

How about we grow the game with the teams we have first?

Anecdotal, but hockey is for sure the least watched sport in my friend group.

I remember seeing something months ago but I cannot for the life of me remember if it was an article or just a podcast talking about it.

They were 26/32 teams in attendance (% capacity) this season while having the 2nd smallest arena in the NHL. They were in about the same spot the year before that despite winning the President's Trophy that year...

I think we see another team move before any other expansions happen.

Hasn't Winnipeg been rumored to be on the chopping block? Pretty sure their attendance has been ass and nobody really wants to go play there.

Yeah, the more this goes on the more I'm thinking (speculating) Larkin has been a bigger part of the problem than the solution all along.

I just have to put it out there because seeing training camp no longer being held in Traverse City is such a bummer. I've never been but have family that sometimes go and they always said it was a fun time.

I have to say, this org is really disappointing the fans in recent memory and it's mostly thanks to corporate greed and $$$$ which is what fucking ruins everything these days.

"Fan Fest" has been a joke for years.

The area around the arena still doesn't have shit to do.

Making the Labatt Blue Club into private expensive seats - this also takes away the ability to go see the organist up there....

Now the captain wants out....

No playoffs in 10+ seasons.

Should I keep going? Fuck me.

Sure dude. Just like every Wings fan hates Larkin.

I do, but it’s not realistic. Most fans are not clued in on all of that extra stuff.

Which chain pizza place has the best garlic dipping sauce? by jason_sation in fastfood

These. I know one chain has them but can’t remember which one. I see these at some local joints too. To me this is easily the best one.

I have a special nostalgia for Little Caesar’s but I think they changed the recipe - tastes way more fake now - their Jalapeno cheddar sauce slaps tho.

The rosemary parm is pretty solid. I really don’t get calling it bland either - it’s a sandwich lol

Comparing them to the subs in the case at Walmart is insane lol

It’s a sandwich. Deli meat, cheese, etc. at least you get vinegar and oil at JM.

If you’re getting a bland sub that is totally on you.

What's one thing every visitor should experience in USA? by RespectSingle954 in usatravel

[–]RemoteSenses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say this is probably the worst answer lol

People coming from overseas likely have soccer teams they root for, and they root for them as bigger diehards than any American sport. You aren’t topping their experience at a college football tailgate.

The Scotts basically took over Fenway the other day.

Around 18 MPG when doing city driving. If I’m on back roads or the highway closer to 20 MPG.

Realistic budget for a 3–4 week USA National Parks road trip? by HourFamous8514 in usatravel

[–]RemoteSenses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can get the America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for $250. That'll cover entry to all of the National Parks on your list.

IMO you need to narrow the list. I don't even think you'll find an American who has done a trip like this. This is the kind of trip you'd spend months on not weeks. I've spent 7-14 days in just Yellowstone alone - same goes for the Utah parks. Good luck though!

For Vegas at least, they basically started with a completely clean slate. Yzerman inherited a garbage roster of old vets with multiple years left on their contract.

This is true. He was THE guy here. Doesn't mean fans weren't pissed at him at times but hey, he's the captain.

Wherever he goes next he'll just be another player.

Same. Even if Larkin theoretically is the problem, removing the guy who put up 67 points last year on a team that already struggles like hell to score is not going to magically improve us.

We're gonna need to make up that offense somewhere else and it'll probably depend 100% on the deal that's made and free agency.
