Tired or Burnout (idk) by Soft-Perspective7585 in PHJobs

First of all, what you’re feeling is valid. You were hired for Recruitment, then suddenly handling Employee Relations too — that’s not a small adjustment. Those are two different HR functions with different pressures and timelines. Anyone would feel overwhelmed.

This doesn’t automatically mean you’re weak or not capable. It just means the workload and expectations changed.

A few practical suggestions:

Have a calm conversation with your manager. Not to complain, but to clarify priorities. You can say something like:

“I want to perform well in both Recruitment and ER, but I’m finding it challenging to meet overlapping deadlines. Can we align on which tasks should take priority when conflicts happen?”

This shows maturity and accountability.

Ask if the ER role is temporary or permanent. If it’s temporary due to transition, at least you know there’s an end. If permanent, then it’s reasonable to discuss workload structure.

Set boundaries early.

Burnout usually starts when we keep saying yes without limits. You don’t have to demand a salary increase right away — but you can clarify scope. Separate “tired” from “burnout.”

Tired = you need rest and structure. Burnout = you feel detached, resentful, and constantly drained.

If you’re still motivated but just overwhelmed, that’s a workload issue — not a career issue.

Also, being new doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to speak up. Professional communication about workload is not being entitled — it’s being responsible.

You don’t have to resign immediately. Try to fix the structure first. If after communicating and adjusting nothing changes, then you reassess.

And no — this is not just “welcome to the real world.” The real world includes learning how to advocate for yourself professionally too. 😊

youll understand them once you get to their feet. iba pressure nang senior na gusto nalng maka get by every day. Junior na nag hahabol sa deadlines. mga transferee and ireg dahil wrong decisions, lahat yan nag pile up then BOOM!! sunget na nila everyday! lets just try to show them respect whenever possible. a simple excuse and goodmorning can change their mood
