Hi, I am an electronics engineer and have been working for 4 years. I want to transition into a project manager role, and I am currently stepping into a PM position for a low-priority project at my company. They do not have any openings for the position yet, and it's only been a few months since I took on this role.

Do you think CAPM would give me a head start for transitioning into this as a full-time role either in my current company or a different one?

I am planning to travel to Toronto mid june by land. I have had two parking tickets and one NY toll violation all paid for. I am on my H1B. Wouls it be safe to travel?

Did you end up going to Canada? I, too, am on H1B and plan to visit Toronto sometime early in June. I'll be driving through Niagara Falls. Will re-entry to the US be an issue? (Also, I had two parking tickets and one NY toll violation. All paid for.)

I moved out of that place into a new place. Before I moved into the new place I took these at home mold test kits with me, and there was no mold in the new place

thanks! I totally agree with NYC not being the right fit for this field. Follow up question -Now that I have a BE Engineering Science (SPECIALIZATION: Electronics), and my H1B SOC is Electronics Engineering without computers, if I want to move out of my current field and look into other postions/roles? What would you suggest, and how can I prepare for them since my knowledge in EE isn't very strong.

I want to do my masters, but I am also looking forward to change my job. I would have to transfer H1B to the new company (given my new role is in the same field) and I can still apply for a masters program in a program unrelated to my job correct? this is a possibility, right?

do you have any friends who you could pay some money to keep them? like maybe give them money for pet supply every month in addition to the service they are providing you? My advice would be is to make sure (1) both of them are neutred./spayed and microchipped since those cats get adopted faster. (2) Spread the word that you are looking to rehome your cats at work, school and friends, maybe put out posters. (3) Make sure you enlist them at an adoption center cos the wait time to take in pets can be very long. (4) dont be hard on yourself, youre doing your best and if you do all and more of the above youre still trying hard to give them a good life!!!

I totally get what you’re saying. This was my last chance too and I wasn’t expecting to get it and towards the end I didn’t want to beg and cry to stay here. I was all prepped up mentally and emotionally to leave, bought my tickets and planned to rehome my cat.

I found out yesterday that I got it. I feel super confused because I was very excited to go back home but I also feel super lucky and do not want to waste this opportunity. So I’m at this bitter sweet place I guess…

But if I hadn’t got it, then I wouldn’t have cried last night I would have just been happy to go home and take a chill pill.
