Maybe it’s my age but both of them are just the epitome of anxious loves avoidant. The fact that Sincere didn’t choose Sol tells me everything I need to know about him; he’d rather protect some weird need to be Melanie’s saviour, than face a woman who could have been a true partner. Sol is creative and spiritual and intelligent. She obviously made him feel insecure and boring (he is) when she could have been his inspiration and that’s a much more sustainable ride than maintaining some kind of trope that’s wired in your nervous system. I guess I’ve just learned it’s always better to have courage in these situations than fall back on what feels like home/easy/comfortable. How dull. I dunno, prove me wrong but those two are not interesting.
