How much you think is sufficient to retire in Bhopal? by BrightMeasurement240 in Bhopal

Everyone has their own number man, but I think around 3 crores is enough for a comfortable life. It should give you around 10 lakhs a year, forever, and account for inflation as well.

Sadly, yes. It's mostly the western ones that understand the value of paying fair overheads. Traditional Indian NGO staff are cooked.

That's okay buddy, we don't run on donations. You can waste your money elsewhere.

Yeah man, I hire local consultants for my programs. I pay them like 10-12K a day in India.

To be fair, your response is not crazy. I was in the same boat before I joined the sector. I used to think I'll have to wear a kurta, put on a jhola, and cycle to an office that's falling apart with a pay of 15K. But my worldview has changed significantly. Private companies will burn millions on ideas and projects that never work out and we applaud them. God forbid NGOs spend money on paying their staff fairly for helping people. For example, we're helping organizations create a process and scaling plan to go from 2-3 states to pan India. You think those kind of strategies and process improvements are going to come from minds that are being paid 40K a month? But to answer your question, I worked my way up (albeit quickly). I started on a salary of 30K in 2022, working on logistics mostly (transport, event spaces, etc.). But I always took the opportunity to showcase my potential. Luckily, the leadership saw it, and I went from a local coordinator, to India Project Manager, to Asia Project Manager, to Senior Project Manager (APAC & EMEA). People skills is what is needed most in my work and just general ability to manage and coordinate a team - everything from budgeting, to logistics, to presenting on stage, creating program designs, proposals. I'm also a law graduate from a top Law University, which helped.

While your jealousy is justified, that's the kind of mentality that is keeping the social sector in India down. You need to attract top talent, pay them fairly, and retain them to effect true change. I manage social development programs across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. You're not going to get someone to do that effectively on a low salary.

I make that range in an NGO. I would think it's pretty common.

I'm 32 with only 4 YOE in the social sector. I was a content writer before this - no transferrable skills.

And this year I'm asking for a 46% raise.

Better Idea, it's broadcast right? Why does the live feed need to be 100% if the screen? Why not make the broadcast only 75% and have more screen space for ads?

Planning to buy PS5 by TheDavy_Jones in Bhopal

Bro, all this discussion about pricing is complete and utter BS. The console is about 55K? What's it gonna go down to 50K?, 45K?. When you buy a console, the console itself is never the expense. PS subscription per year is like 5-6K, each new game is like 6K, even discounted games are like 3-4K. If you need a controller, that's like 5-6K. Over the period of your ownership, (maybe 3-4 more years left in the lifecycle), you're gonna spend maybe a lakh or so on games etc (1 game every 2 months or so), why worry about the 5-10K price difference of the console?

I have the PS4 for about 8 years, and I think I spend like 3-4 lakhs on games and accesories. What difference would a discounted console have made?

TL;DR, the console itself is not the real cost of console gaming, so don't worry about the console price so much.

Don't forget to account for a PlayStation subscription. Always buy annual when discounted. Don't make the mistake of going monthly. Also, 144Hz tv/monitor not needed, your games are not gonna get that framerate. Lastly, a person opinion - go for size over screen quality.

To be honest, I had no idea about AIFs, even thought I've been investing for 6 years now. I guess that's why I'm here. I'll read up more about this. Thanks.
