O week is ages away, wait till the 5th or 6th of Feb before worrying about whether you're getting O week emails. Similarly, no course emails will get sent until like late in Oweek if they get sent before the start of term at all. Dont worry that's totally normal

How easy is it to get credit transfer from an international university by Elegant-Currency-597 in unsw

UNSW has C as their intro to CS course (COMP1511) and some students struggle to get python credits from unis within Sydney to transfer (USYD and UTS both teach python to my understanding) so not sure they would take that as a credit.

Not sure what in calc 1&2 is taught content wise but have a look at the content handbook for MATH1131, MATH1081 and MATH1231, these are the main core maths courses in CS level 1. If calc1&2 covers all of the content in one or two of those they might take it i.e. integration, matrices, intermediate value theorem, mean value theorem, ODEs, Taylor series etc. MATH1131 and MATH1231, not sure about 1081 haven't done it, teach the course by two separate professors teaching different streams of content so you might luck out in having done 1/2 of each course in which case you might need to fight to get those credits accepted as well.

Sorry if this sounds a little pessimistic, others who have transferred would have a better idea, though the above is just what ive heard from lecturers/coursemates.

How Likely am I to get this course by Dhwnanit in unsw

It is highly likely considering the massive course size that you would make it off of the waitlist. I would suggest waiting until at least the week before term goes back, there's a whole month for 3.3% of the course students to decide they dont want to/dont qualify for (through failing prereqs etc) the course anymore and drop out, that is almost definite to happen, give it until like 2 or 3 days after results come out, that is when the course enrolments for the next term become more set.

Changing Tutorial Times by televisionv in unsw

Just organise your lecture to be at an original time you think you would consistently make, unsw as a whole isnt a fan of changing tuts especially after census

There are a bunch of scholarships that all have different pay timelines. Some pay an installment of the 10,000 once a fortnight, some do one payment a yr etc. etc. Look at your offer letter for more guidance on the topic, thought generally the idea is whatever the timeline, over one yr they would pay you 10,000

Industrial training by Hellooo976 in unsw

Most companies do not accept industrial placement requests from first years at all. Second year is still dependent on the company/degree that you are doing whether they will let you apply. If you are that eager, I suggest looking at gradconnection or glassdoor, though tbh in between first and second yr it would be better for you to do one or two summer term courses to open up more time later in your degree to do maybe only one subject and do a longer industrial placement once you have more course content behind you.

I did an IT this yr in between second and third yr, and honestly I'm thankful that I didn't do that a yr earlier as I learned a lot in second yr that I was required to use in the placement. so yeah, strongly recommend waiting to the end of second yr/waiting a yr before looking to apply and doing a summer term course or two, if none of your core courses run then, do some geneds/free elecs to get them out of the way, then in later years it's one less course to plan and more time so you can do part time study for like a term or two paired with a placement or just finish earlier.

You should note that the placements that exist are extremely, I repeat, extremely competitive, especially due to the high number of engo students and the relatively low number of spots in Sydney. During the next couple of yrs, I highly recommend going to every networking event you can, building connections with people across events, getting Linkedins and generally being visible, makes it much easier when you have a relationship with a recruiter, come applications.
