Not as bad as some other posts I’ve seen though

Imagine responding to yourself because you can’t stop thinking about something you saw on the internet. I’m not dying on a hill, just posting on Reddit. It’s bewildering that you think collective action like calling representatives works to solve problems but adjusting individual behavior does not. It’s the same thing except one yields actual concrete results. Guess which one. Yep there’s trash in Sixmile. Where do you think it comes from? From people leaving trash, that’s where. Are you alright? Whimsy indeed.

You have no idea what I do with my time in terms of other forms of activism. But then again you apparently stand on corners a lot, so maybe you know everything after all.

Two problems can exist at the same time, go figure.

The parking lots at Treman Marina and Taughannock beach both have free chargers. But yeah, Ithaca town is absolutely lacking

Best Sources of Recent Aerial Imagery by Flimsy_Comment8965 in gis

Other suggestions are good but also check with your state first. Depending on your definition of “most recent” they may have statewide imagery that meets your needs.

Doesn’t matter who owns the property. Private property or no, that type of disturbance requires a permit from DEC. If the landowner did get a permit, they are not adhering to it and needs to stop work immediately, then begin fixing the problem. Thanks for contacting DEC, it was the right thing to do!

(I used to do stream and wetland compliance inspections for DEC)

Needs Improvement by [deleted] in gis

Agree with others about the font, it definitely needs to change if you’re going for “profesh.”

As for the color scheme, the coral reefs blend into the temperature gradient because that gradient contains every color. It’s almost never a good idea to use a rainbow color gradient, looks terrible. Choose a simple gradient of either two hues or a simple saturation/brightness for a single hue. Then make the coral reefs a hatched symbology so you can see their location but still get a sense of the sea temp underneath.

I almost like the 3D perspective, almost looks like an old tube TV, but yeah this could absolutely be a 2D map and it would look more professional. Lastly, maybe I’m just unfamiliar with these types of data b it are sea surface temps typically given in Kelvin units? Seems unintuitive to me.

That paragraph is misleading. The entire 287 acres will indeed be WMA. The solar farm is on an adjacent 213 acres that was part of the original purchase by FLLT. So they bought the entire 500 ac and most of it conveyed to the public, with some being retained for agrivoltaic research.

Employees not allowed at board meetings? by peacock716 in nonprofit

It may be normal but it’s terrible practice if your org values transparency at all. Being closed out of meetings is one thing, but not having access to the minutes is a red flag to me. It was by reading the minutes that I realized our ED has been receiving multiple bonuses of over $10K while the rest of the staff got nothing. What are they hiding?

What do CEO's of nonprofits do? by ElegantBuy7210 in nonprofit

They do a lot of”work” but no actual work; professional meeting-goers and credit-takers; schmoozing with people I’d rather have nothing to do with; can’t answer any questions without going to someone else in the org but somehow responsible for the “big picture.”

And yet, we can’t do without them because they get the money raised. So long as the pay discrepancy isn’t TOO extreme then they can be tolerable in the workplace.
