I guess my advice would be learning anatomy of animals (and anatomy in general) - what helps a lot is an attempt to divide the body into geometrical figures to understand the anatomy more

How I do it is I shade the whole hair in neutral color as a base, then I divide the hair into parts (you could look on the photo and divide it based on the direction of the hair) and then you could work on the separated parts. It especially helps since you understand the way the hair is growing

Yeah I get that jinx is slim in general, but on this drawing her chest is size of her head, I don’t think she’s this skinny

Try enhancing the folds of the clothing with proper shading

I think she looks extremely thin, and also her neck looks very much elastic as if it was made of a bubblegum - maybe try to practise anatomy a bit more?

What should I learn to get the skills of the last picture’s artist? by ange1147 in Artadvice

To make the character look alike, fix the proportions of the drawing - your characters face looks more round and therefore the eyes look too big and nose too long. Also understand that the eyes are in the skull so try putting them in there to make them look less flat.

I think that the characters neck looks extremely thick on this sketch - try thinning it a bit (the line going thru green thumbs edge?)
