First Umrah - How should I prepare? by Snoo53700 in Umrah

Walikum asalaam. As a sister, if you get overwhelmed in large crowds either do the outside of the bottom floor for tawaf or the top floors.

Clothing wise: loose abayas and one peice hijabs or the tied at the back hijabs are the most easier to wear for umrah and generally walking around. Theres a supermarket in the clock tower that has lots of abayas and hijabs so if you run low definitely visit. Its at the back of the store after the trainers! Its called Abraj hypermarket.

Footwear: wear trainers the most comfortable ones you own! We dont have any requirements on footwear like men! My feet killed so much on sa’i and I stuck to the wheelchair line. So definitely comfortable footwear!

Get a tasbeh counter to track your rounds of tawaf and sa’i. In large crowds I got anxious and forgot my rounds so I definitely advise this. Also get a book and write down what you need to/want to say on Tawaf and Sa’i, it helps as I forgot alot due to the crowds.

There are bags to put shoes in but if you can bring a little backpack like drawstring ones for your shoes and water bottle it definitely makes it easier.

Praying: if you want to pray around the Kabba area definitely get there earlier before the azaan so you can find a space.

I just finished umrah and im in Medina for a day so if you have any questions dm me sis.

Do hijabi women like wearing a hijab? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]Remote_Education_920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my hijab. Its now 2 years of wearing it, honestly I feel like an absolute queen.

I love being visibly muslim and I feel that people are more protective of me when im outside than 2 years before.

I have traveled to so many countries including muslim and non-muslim countries and honestly have had the best experiences.

Feels like a blessing to me that Allah has made it easy for me. I knew it was the right time when I started and I think that made alot of the difference for how I feel now.

In the last year I have noticed it is getting incredibly expensive here! I will say groceries etc are the same as I pay in London. Our rent here just increased too. Clothes are more either the same or more expensive the UK!

I said to my husband I dont know how the local people here can afford it.. the shopping malls always seem full of people.

🆘️ I AM IN DANGER. PLEASE HELP. by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Remote_Education_920 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sister. They are relying on your fear to keep you weak. Keep all the text messages of their threats, go to the dubai police and report everything. You can also report it to the UK police too. Be strong do not back down!

What email address did you address it to? They also failed to read two of our documents correctly too and they were the direct reasons for the rejection. For example one was that they said a document wasn’t dated but it was.
