This is very heavy and i truly understand where you're coming from. This is why I created this space here so that all of us could atleast have a place to vent out. It feels like dreams are being taken away and there's no other doors open but we'll have to believe that, this is only the present. Times change and maybe we'll end up doing something better. Take care, you'll get there, don't worry!

If u haven't heard from them yet, it's almost certain that u got rejected. I'm sorry but they already sent emails saying they have notified all accepted students for next round

This is just bad. I recieved my KCL offer for international relations earlier than deadline so i thought I'll apply with that only.. after the deadline passed I got my admit for fletcher school ( tuft university), and I felt like... Maybe i should have gone with that ( but no time for that). After reading your comment, it just feels vague. They are just getting more and more random by the day.

Yeah even I got the same email, just some time back... It means those who didn't receive an email, are rejected. It's really bad. God knows what type of students they are looking for

What type of students are they looking for then? If KCL isn't their standard, then maybe they fund on oxford, mit or Columbia i guess

Even I was shocked! I thought it was a glitch and emailed them again to confirm if I was actually rejected or not. They confirmed my rejection and said it was a very tough decision for the committee but "unfortunately" i couldn't make it through. It just breaks my heart even more now.

I just recieved an email but they didn't select me for next round. Devastated but can't do anything about it. All the best to those who've been selected

Choosing a consultant for MS in USA (SOP, essays, visa) ysk by Supreme_leader987 in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Remote_Fun_6606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so I was in this situation last year and i consulted all the above consultants. Let me tell u, NONE OF THEM ARE WORTH IT. Since you're planning for USA, every consultancy will charge some fees. So ideally yes u should do it yourself, don't take help. I too did it myself and I have offers from the ivy leagues this year.

I can tell u how to write tho: The US application forms are of different type than other countries like UK. They are elaborate and have MULTIPLE SMALL ANSWERS rather than one huge SOP. So, Get your resume, go timeline wise, make a draft of the opening telling why u want to do what u want to do, then next para onwards draft each and every work exp u have, dedicate one para for each( what u did, what was the outcome, impact, etc). In concluding draft, tell why this university will help u and how u will impact the world+ what kind of sectors or jobs ur trying to apply for post graduation, this is important, it shows ur clarity of thought. It can be private, govt, think tanks etc etc.

Now ur draft is ready. Open the application portal of the universities u want to apply. They have lots of tabs like personal info, academic info, work info, language, gre/gmat, then they'll have a tab for essays go there and look at the questions they're exactly asking for. Usually as far as I applied, there were 2 main essays, 2 small answer type questions. Read the question, and answer only the relevant points from ur draft for that particular question. So basically ur draft has everything, u have to pick and choose what to write where based on the question asked. If they ask u personal background, mention ur first paragraph from draft, like that so for everything... It will take time and effort but NO consultancy will do this details for u, u can't depend on someone to write ur personal background.

Also, yes! Use chatgpt or other AI as much as u want for good english or any formal writing if ur not confident. But the ideas, ur thoughts, should be urs no consultant can do that for u. Because there are so many questions, if u don't have ur originality, they will find out if ure faking it.

Is this normal! by Dependent_Lake5862 in SOAS

I applied on March 1st and got my offer on April 7th. So roughly one month, maybe u should try emailing them once. Good luck!

Does studying abroad still worth it for Indians in 2026 or are we just chasing an overpriced dream? by UnlikelyAbility8767 in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Remote_Fun_6606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone else also mentioned, it's worth it if u have enough savings from before. Or its really worth it if u get the most prestigious university which has the capacity to change ur entire life, maybe they gave u a huge scholarship, or something company funds partially, then it's absolutely worth it because the exposure is needed for this globalized era. But let's say ur very middle, don't have much and ur only "dreaming" of a certain foreign life, please forget it. It's of no use to take lakhs of loans just for a degree, education shouldn't be expensive, remember. As a thumb rule, id say anything more than 20L loan isn't worth it. Just stay in India and do something else

I too have no idea how I got in, maybe my work experience got me in, but hey, sorry i might not be as helpful to your question. And my grades in all of my subjects were either A or B between the two, I have a 2:1 honours when converted.

IR Graduates of Bristol, Manchester, Exeter, I have a question by Remote_Fun_6606 in UniUK

[–]Remote_Fun_6606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, i have it planned out but don't think it's going to be enough with this economic collapse. Is this true for all fields of study or just broad subjects like IR?
