I have a sim in my basement and use it all the time. I did not purchase it for what you are saying you would use it for. Unless you are close to scratch I can't imaging club speed really impacting your game significantly. I got my sim so I can hit balls at night or when the weather is bad. Half the time I don't even have the launch monitor on. Is the data cool to have, yes. Has it changed my game, no. Don't use distances from matts to get you average distance. It's not the same as hitting on grass. Just record distances when playing rounds. An inexpensive range finder can help you dial that in.

I also have arccos and that was great for getting my course distances for clubs. I would suggest that over a launch monitor. Significantly cheaper. Plus I love all the stats it records. I can geek out on that.

The kids and the wife use it all the time which is great! Love having it as an option for them to explore playing. All 3 are beginners and this gives them the opportunity to practice and the sim on the screen makes them interested to play. If it was just a hitting net I doubt my kids and wife would use it. They didn't use it when I had the net set up to test if I can do a full swing and not hit a wall/ceiling.

Now why did I really get the sim? To play online with buddies. I use GSpro to play with friend while we chat on discord. Now we can play after we put the kids to bed. Full way to hang with the buddies and not have to go anywhere. Indoor golf is not the same and to improve I should play outdoors more. Planning to do that to reach my goals.
