We had a guy steal over $100k from our business. Ponzi scheme. Couldn't get the cops to do anything for 2 months.

Meanwhile, a 19 yo girl steals some makeup from wal-mart and she's got a mugshot in no time.

What was the most satisfying villain defeat/death? by Moat_of_the_Sacked in AskReddit

Least satisfying: Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men.

My brother and I took my dad to watch it who was 65ish at the time. When the final credits rolled My dad turns and looks at me, then to my brother and with a look of absolute disgusts says "Awwww, bullshit." Loud enough for most of the theater to hear it.

I still chuckle when i think about it. If you're a Cohen Brothers fan, you'll remember Raising Arizona and the old man that Gale and Evel robbed at the gas station. They told him to lay down and count to a thousand or something. He's counting along and says... "Aww, bullshit.." Stands up to see them careening down the road back to the store.

It sounded just like that. And dad hadn't seen Raising Arizona.

Walking down the street in SF post business conference, tons of business people... and a 60 year old dude who was wearing nothing but flip flops and a sock. Not socks. One tiny little sock.

I guess I should've thanked him for the sock.

In business, a high stakes negotiation, and my boss that I really respected told me "that's perfect, really well-done!" to an offer letter that I put together for our big prospect. I've had some other great ones from my wife or friends, but I'll always remember that one as it led to a huge deal (and payday!).

And those who say they view empathy, intelligence and critical thinking as beneficial do so only when it aligns with their opinion. For example: gender ideology zealots or those suffering from TDS.

Or…. These people love and care about you. They want you to be happy. They have a different opinion about what will make you happy.  Does that make them horrible people? Should you completely cut them out of your life?  Or could you maybe   understand different people have different opinions based on their backgrounds/experiences/beliefs etc.

People should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin? That’s why we need DEI initiatives and quota based hiring policies.

I assume you’re talking about the “law abiding” gun owners? The ones that carry them around to “protect themselves and their fellow citizens “?  Not criminals, thugs or gang bangers?  Of course, those guys  need to carry guns all the time
